While I love Washington, was education about what is theater and her experiences

I love Carrie Washington as an actor. But, I would not recommend this book. Almost entire book is about how to perform and definitions, and how she felt on stage. The author voice is smoothing but I found myself being put to sleep with her voice and the content of the book. Sorry but not sorry.

The memoir was superb!!! A must read/listen as it will bring you to awareness, tears, laughter, and everything in between. The author is vulnerable, courageous, and unfiltered as she shares her story. All the characteristics of a great memoir. Thanks Jenifer for telling your story. You are the Black Mother of Hollywood.
