Killing the Witches revisits one of the most frightening and inexplicable episodes in American history: the events of 1692 and 1693 in Salem Village, Massachusetts. What began as a mysterious affliction of two young girls who suffered violent fits and exhibited strange behavior soon spread to other young women. Rumors of demonic possession and witchcraft consumed Salem. Soon three women were arrested under suspicion of being witches—but as the hysteria spread, more than 200 people were accused. Thirty were found guilty, twenty were executed, and others died in jail or their lives were ruined.

The book shpild have ended 4 hours earlier. After the story of the witches concludes, the author goes on for another 4 hours in order to fill up space. Bill tries to loosely tie in the founding of the USA and even the true ba story to the movie the exorcist, bot of which really have nothing to do with the Salem Witch Trials.

What a stupid, dumb story. I think my IQ went down 20 points from listening to it. It lacks a cohesive story line. A total waste of good narrating and sound effects.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Have someone else narrate it. How can he be such a literary genius and not read his own work with empathy? Every character voice he does sounds the same - making it near impossible to determine when a different character should be speaking.
If you’ve listened to books by Stephen King before, how does this one compare?
Stephen King should never narrate his own books. IT was much, much better!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
It puts me to sleep when I'm driving.
