Historia
The "maddog" murderer who is terrorizing the Twin Cities is two things: insane and extremely intelligent. He kills for the pleasure of it and thoroughly enjoys placing elaborate obstacles to keep police befuddled. Each clever move he makes is another point of pride. But when the brilliant Lieutenant Lucas Davenport, a dedicated cop and a serial killer's worst nightmare, is brought in to take up the investigation, the maddog suddenly has an adversary worthy of his genius.

Deserving an award
Revisado: 07-30-20
This is a very good book. Well written, great character development, good involved story, a bit gruesome. However the ending of this book is totally AWESOME. Because of the well written book I was interested in reading more but with the ending I will binge read. Wonderful!!!

Aaahh young Coben
Revisado: 06-10-20
The book is verbose. Overly long and too detailed descriptions that are boring.
The book is read by an actor that is tenuous and sounds condescending in every sentence.
Coben starts this book with and apology as he did on his first book. Try someway to read/listen to that before buying.

Historia
At the end of the Second World War, Cyril Conroy combines luck and a single canny investment to begin an enormous real estate empire, propelling his family from poverty to enormous wealth. His first order of business is to buy the Dutch House, a lavish estate in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. Meant as a surprise for his wife, the house sets in motion the undoing of everyone he loves. The story is told by Cyril’s son Danny, as he and his older sister, the brilliantly acerbic and self-assured Maeve, are exiled from the house where they grew up by their stepmother.

One of the Best Listens !!
Revisado: 03-06-20
This story is simply amazing. Ann Patchett can pass from current time to previous or future seamlessly that you don't know or care it happens. It's a wonderful story with ups and downs and it's simply life, with wonderful dialogue and a stellar performance by Tom Hanks.
The point of this book is in every single chapter and continues from Chapter one to then very end.
This is a wonderful beginning for me to discover Ann Patchett

Verbose and very gruesome. I can't believe someone can think up this kind of crime and then write about it.

Historia
L.A. private eye Elvis Cole is hired by popular television star Jodie Taylor to delve into her past and identify the biological parents who gave her up for adoption thirty-six years before. Cole's assignment is to find out their biological history and report back. It seems all too clear cut. But when he gets to Louisiana and begins his search, he finds that there's something much darker going on. Other people are also looking for Taylor's parents, and some are ending up dead.

One of the Best
Revisado: 04-27-19
This book was well written with great character development (this is my first Elvis Cole read), great story line, lovely finish and THE BEST voice I've had to pleasure to listen to since Michael Kramer of Brandon Sanderson's book.
Too bad they only have 5 stars.

Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.
