I found out I really dislike the majority of a book being flashbacks. I wanted a lot more of the main/present timeline story.

Loved the Art History themes!

Doesn’t matter to me if there were creative liberties taken in regards to the authenticity of the details relating to several subject matters (Art Crime, Passport Processes, NFTs, etc), which seems to be reviewers biggest issue with this book. It was an interesting story idea and I greatly appreciated the theme of art history and the main character just trying to figure life out. I enjoyed reading it. To me, it feels like it could be open to a sequel.

I was delighted by this book. I loved how tightly woven the twists were. They made perfect sense as they came barreling towards us. How brilliantly everything was thought out! The themes of this book will truly stay with me for a very long time. I have already heard myself unconsciously using several turns of phrase directly from the book. Yes, this book had left quite the impression!

A lovely conclusion to a world we have loved

I really have loved the time I have spent listening to this trilogy. The world the author creates for us feels like a very real place to me. The characters have dreams and hearts that beat very true to our own hearts. This was a very beautiful conclusion to that world that is so detailed and satisfying to have lived in.

I know this is a novella, but it was so brief I felt like I was missing the real story of Nightingales’ life. The super slow and religious parts in the beginning were hard to get through, and then right when I was becoming interested in her life story this novella ended.

Maybe I'm not in the right mindset? I finished listening to this book but stopped reading it for awhile and then forced myself to finish it. I was unrelatable and odd to me. I also felt like the author was bossing me around in the "exercises" and not giving an acknowledgement that she had recorded it for Audible.
