Possible spoilers in this rant...

I absolutely HATE that Evie and Sam's story was basically ignored in the last couple of books. NOTHING was ever explained as to what happened to them. It was like the author just didn't feel like writing their story and wanted to focus solely on Lachlan and Piper's story. Grrr! I liked Evie and Sam so much more, and truly, I found myself just getting angrier and angrier that the characters just kept skimming over what happened. They just kept saying things like, "not now" and "don't ask." It was ridiculous.
SPOILER: While I'm glad they ended up getting back together in the end, the resolution was bittersweet. We never got to know any details about what happened. Frankly, I think the author was just plain lazy about that part of the story and wrote the characters doing and saying things that were in general, out-of-character.

Diana is the WORST
Revisado: 07-01-20
I can't believe I was able to finish this book. It took so much effort. Diana was so awful, naive, whiny, brainless, and irrational. There was really nothing redeemable about her, even right to the end. She thinks to herself how much she's matured even while still being completely immature. She acts like a 13 year old child bride, rather than her actual age. Yes, I understand she was sheltered, but good grief, I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes at and called a character a dumbass more than I did with this book. How could Michael actually fall in love with her?? It's not even believable that there's enough patience in one human body. He'd have to be a saint, and he wasn't. It's completely implausible. Right up until the end she was acting the spoiled brat she claimed she wasn't. Why did everyone keep telling Michael they made a good couple? He should have been offended at that. I wish I could get my time back. Thankfully I didn't waste a credit on this book since it's included with Audible Escape.

Historia
Pragmatic Maeve Benetton would never have answered an advertisement for a mail-order bride on her own accord, but without her knowledge and on her behalf, her brother replied to one placed by Patrick Holden from Weatherton, Wyoming. When a letter came from Patrick several weeks later, Maeve decided to pen her own reply, giving in to the romantic notions she'd always kept hidden.

Narrator is TERRIBLE
Revisado: 06-29-20
I never leave reviews. I just don't care enough to bother I guess, but this narrator warrants the effort to do so. She takes long pauses, so I tried just speeding it up little. However she also talks way too fast at times, so listening faster wasn't an option. At times she sounds like a much older woman than the characters. You can hear her breathing heavily and swallowing. There's no consistency to her characters' voices. The novella itself isn't extremely well-written, but the story themes and plot are okay. Overall, the narrator ruins what is good about it though.
