Different story than you think!

Heavily sad book...

We love to listen to books as a family. We thought this book would be good for our family of 4, with kids pre-teen and early teen loving books, stories. This book, it's story just made us all feel very sad and stressed. My wife has stage 4 cancer which primary cause was stress. Somewhere in the middle of the book I just had to stop it and tell my family I won't play it again. I will exchange it for another book, hopefully better, than this, the one that will bring joy and healing so much needed for our family. My 11 year old daughter also had some fear problems. As she was slowly getting better, I now have to step back because of this book and comfort her, reassuring that her daddy will always be there protecting her so no one will attack and harm her, like this book's heroine in some scenes. That said, I can admit that writer of this book is talented and can easily handle the high wave of emotions, but due to too many tragic and violent scenes listener's discretion is advised, I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're looking for family book to listen with children, or to get away from stress, as this book does the opposite.
