Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Narrator Great, Honest & Human Story
Revisado: 11-02-23
Britney’s story is heartbreaking- she is such a beautiful soul and the world was cruel to her. The worst part is that her own family betrayed her time and time again, and she had no one in her corner. I’m glad she’s finally free and telling her story in any way she can. She’s an adult who deserves her freedom to be whatever she wants to be. She admits to her mistakes, but you can tell she’s a sweet soul who was taken advantage of many times. The part that really rings true for me is how her mother was writing a book about Britney’s struggles and capitalizing on it- Britney says if her child was going through something the last thing she’d do would be write it down, share it to the world and then step on every talk show in the world to talk about it. It’s so true, you wouldn’t do that to your daughter if you truly cared for her and loved her. Her whole family tried to make more and more money from her and cared little about the human she is.
I hope Britney continues to free herself emotionally from her trauma and I hope she lives the rest of her life in peace.

Cool concept story, love the characters
Revisado: 10-30-23
I loved the story and the characters and I’m looking forward to more. The narrator isn’t my favorite- it’s not awful but I was thrown off at first as the narrator has a very mature voice. I got over it though eventually cause the story is good.

Fun, romantic, whimsical
Revisado: 10-18-23
This is a fun and easy story to listen to. I loved the Greek mythology in modern times. It’s a sweet love story of course, between Hades and The Goddess of Spring which always fascinated me that they were together in Greek myth, but always loved.
The narrator has such a sweet and enticing voice, it was perfect for the books vibe, and was another main reason I enjoyed it!
I think if you’re looking for an easy, fun read this is definitely a nice story. Its not overly complex, there is plenty of romantic spice (which could be a warning if you don’t like that stuff), and the plot moves along at an expected and steady pace.
I am generous with my 5 stars to be fair- I don’t reserve them for like the best books ever- i just couldn’t give it 4 tho because I enjoyed it enough and thought it was a fun read!

Revisado: 10-08-23
I’m totally intrigued from the first few chapters, and I’m absolutely hooked by the end. I love the characters and the plot is unique and creative and I have SO MANY QUESTIONS and cannot wait for the second book. I might even have to re-read before the 2nd comes out. Very enjoyable.

Historia
Yoga for Bendy People was written for yoga teachers and practitioners who want a deeper understanding of hypermobility syndromes and how to optimize the benefits of yoga for people who have them. A well-designed yoga practice not only avoids injury, but leaves the body better supported, the nervous system better regulated, the mind clearer, and the heart more connected to its purpose.

Excellent book for yoga teachers and students
Revisado: 07-05-23
This book is filled with up to date research, information as well as personal and clinical experience dealing with the challenges that hyper mobile joints bring to people in yoga but also in regard to fitness and exercise in general. I’m a personal trainer and yoga teacher, and I have both a BS and MS in exercise science and I feel I learned new things and really built on my knowledge and understanding on how to work with people with potential hyper mobility issues/disorders. I have a few training clients who exhibit some of the symptoms and regardless of whether they have a hyper mobile condition or not, I feel I can better train them and have adapted some of the programming for them to focus on improving sensory awareness and proprioception. The research on how many interrelated conditions and how they affect people who are “bendy” is so well presented and put together. I will certainly be looking into some more books/information on some things she mentioned here.
Additionally, even for someone just interested in exploring what yoga is truly about regardless of ability to do extreme yoga postures, this can be extremely uplifting for you too. Libby really gets to the heart of what yoga is about in this book while connecting with the research in movement science and biomechanics.
Such a fantastic book, I listened and bought a hard copy to highlight/take notes in and explore further topics.

I liked it! But I get why ppl hate it lol
Revisado: 06-22-22
Spoiler free: I enjoyed this book! I liked that it was short enough, it’s not complex enough to be much longer so I thought it was a short interesting read. I like that the end is ambiguous but complete. It doesn’t leave you hanging, it just leaves you with a choice what to believe. I enjoy that. I did NOT enjoy the child abuse scenes - who would? But I think it’s necessary for the story plot to be good, so if you can read through it go for it.
WARNING SPOILER comment only read if you finish the book!
**************************************************** SORRY JUST HAVE TO VENT. the only thing that I WILL say is annoying, if I were potentially writing a fictional story as a writing exercise that could be misconstrued like that, I would write a warning in the beginning of it and probably like, on every page. Like “disclaimer: fictional writing exercise only” at the very least, regardless of what you end up believing about verity in the end, she had to be at least minutely disturbed to write and think things like that and again, not to put some disclaimer on the margins. Idk- anyway, that’s my take. Also dang this guy is good at getting people pregnant lol. That’s all I’ll say. Lol

Michael Shellenberger has been fighting for a greener planet for decades. He helped save the world’s last unprotected redwoods. He co-created the predecessor to today’s Green New Deal. And he led a successful effort by climate scientists and activists to keep nuclear plants operating, preventing a spike of emissions. But in 2019, as some claimed "billions of people are going to die", contributing to rising anxiety, including among adolescents, Shellenberger decided that he needed to speak out to separate science from fiction.

Challenges Assumptions
Revisado: 03-13-22
I learned so much from this, lots of relevant information and science from a balanced and nuanced perspective. The author NOT a climate denialist but someone who understands we have to balance human thriving with our efforts to save the planet. I empathize greatly as the author admits where he was misguided and mislead and the experience of learning throughout his life has been very humbling and it’s very relateable to read about. I felt myself changing my mind about somethings, while still feel myself challenged in other areas, but I feel this book is a balanced and ESSENTIAL perspective in order to move forward. If you’re open minded but actually care about progress and the environment, definitely check out this book. Also, VERY relevant to todays energy crisis….and current events

Maybe I don’t read as often as I should because I’m floored by how much I love these books. Such a good story, lots of suspense and I truly was never sure what exactly was going to happen- but in the best possible way. Definitely worth the whole trilogy!

Revisado: 12-09-21
I cannot wait to read the last one in the trilogy, still so good! I really enjoyed this episode, the first one set everything up and this one capitalizes on all those moments and builds new ones. Plus the Tea narrator no longer does the little girl sounding dialogue for Tea so it was easier to listen to!

Really good
Revisado: 12-02-21
I very much enjoyed this. The author is great at cliffhangers- giving you just enough info that you care what happens next and leaving out enough that it make you want/need to keep reading/listening. I never knew what was going to happen, too- twists and turns were unexpected yet fitting - really good.
Narration notes: The female narrator was good but her voice for Tea sometimes had too much intended shakiness that I found it annoying at times over the car stereo (like it made me anxious) but mostly because I had to have the volume high because at other times she’d whisper someone’s dialogue so I could barely hear what was said. To be fair she’s very good at inflection so it’s overall a good thing but reading in the car it was hard to hear. Overall good narration too though.
