A lot of the stories felt like they were written for men, and were from the point of view of a man

There was a mix of creative stories so you could peruse them and pick ones that worked for you. My issue with this is that it said it was written specifically for women, but it’s clear that a lot of the stories are from the point of view of men and use language that might turn men on, but not women. Also, the narrator‘s voice simply was not for me.

I think I would’ve enjoyed this more if I had spent time studying eastern philosophies in depth prior to reading

While I enjoyed how listening to this piece of science-fiction exposed me to a lot of new ideas, some of the discussions quoting or playing with various eastern philosophies were very hard to understand in a audio format, even with the narrators notes. I suspect if I had read the book, rather than listened to it, I would have picked up a lot more of the nuance. That said, it was fun to listen to, and definitely got my brain working.

An easy, sexy listen. Fun story with a few thrills but not super scary. Appreciate the female narrators.

Interesting conceit, but the story drags on for too long

If this had been a 1 hour podcast I would have given it 5 stars. But it became clear about half way through that a) Marc Fennell was not actually going to reveal who stole the nuts and b) because he couldn’t reveal it, he was going to spend the 2nd half of the podcast taking brief jaunts in to a number of socioeconomic issues that are related to food production (not just nut production) and use those to issue some guilt inducing warnings around “thinking about where the food you eat comes from and how it gets to you” without providing any solutions.
