Good and (very) Bad
Revisado: 06-06-23
Good news is that Josie and the team solve a very confusing series of murders. I confess, I did figure out who did what, about halfway through, but the story still kept me listening. Devastating news is that a major character dies. I held out hope until there was none. Why couldn't she have killed off someone nobody liked or cared about? Bad Lisa! So, I don't know whether to recommend this one or not. Still bummed.

Historia
When a digital marketer is found murdered in his backyard—hands bound and face smothered by plastic wrap—Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn respond to the call. Their investigation focuses on the man’s dating-app profile and the word liar carved into his forehead. One day later, the killer strikes again. Both victims are players in the internet dating scene. In their wake, they leave a trail of hurt—and angry—women. But Bree and Matt aren’t convinced the motive is as simple as it appears.

Good, but it could've been better
Revisado: 02-18-23
Good plot. Enjoy Bree and her supporting characters. However, the narrator uses a low whisper for certain male voices. It's barely audible. I can't just increase the volume or the other character's voices become way too loud. A change in this narration style would have made for a higher rating.

Historia
Lisa Wingate has been favorably compared to authors Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans. In A Month of Summer, Hanna Beth has been caring for her aging husband - who suffers from Alzheimer's - and her developmentally challenged adult son for years on her own. But when she suffers a stroke, estranged stepdaughter Rebecca must take the reins. As she cares for her father and the step-brother she's barely met, Rebecca slowly begins to heal both herself and her family.

Great story, touching on real life family issues (divorce, alzhemers, caregiving challenges). The narration was excellent. I was disappointed, when the book was finished. I will definitely read/listen to other books by this author.

Okay Story. Annoying Narration.
Revisado: 10-07-21
Narrator uses a low whisper for the lead male character's voice . It's unnatural and off-putting. The plot was decent, but predictable. An okay book, but definitely not the author's best.

Okay story. Glad I didn't have to pay for it.
Revisado: 09-20-21
Story was okay, but the the sex scenes and sex language were a bit too graphic for my taste. Also, the immediate and constant Baby, Darlin' and Sweetheart in almost every bit of dialog between the two main characters was unrealistic. Who really talks like that? Glad I didn't have to use a credit for it.

U.K. Publisher = U.K. Narration, I Guess
Revisado: 04-08-21
I have enjoyed all the books in this series, in spite of the narration. The narrator has a nice, clear voice, and I understand everything she says (not always the case, with some narrators) but I often feel like I'm listening to something on BritBox. The series is set in the US, so the UK pronunciations always shift my focus away from the story, to the narrator. A good proofer, prior to release, would greatly increase my enjoyment of future audio books by the narrator.

Historia
The daughter of a US Senator is monitoring her social media presence when she finds a picture of herself on a strange blog. And there are other pictures...of the children of other influential Washington politicians, walking or standing outside their schools, each identified by name. Surrounding the photos are texts of vicious political rants from a motley variety of radical groups. It's obviously alarming - is there an unstable extremist tracking the loved ones of powerful politicians with deadly intent? But when the FBI is called in, there isn't much the feds can do.

What a Disappointment
Revisado: 09-30-20
I tried 3 separate times, to listen to this book, but finally threw in the towel. Anyone who has read the Prey and Virgil Flowers books knows Sandford leans left. So what? Who cares? In the past, I think no one cared much, as the stories were so intriguing and well written. This latest book is just a continuous string of cliches, pushing Sandford's liberal view. Stereotypes abound...all conservatives are alt-right nut jobs...all liberals are pillars of virtue. There is no middle ground in this book (at least the 4 hours I was able to get through). Ferrone's performance is spot-on, as always, but that's the only positive thing I can say about this one. I thank Mr. Sandford for providing me with many years of reading enjoyment, but I'm done (and sad).

Just Okay
Revisado: 02-17-19
A bit sluggish, throughout, then a rush to solve the mystery and tie up all the loose ends. Also, if the narrator was supposed to be affecting a scandanavian accent, she missed the mark. Sounded Irish, to me.

Good story, Irritating Narrator
Revisado: 01-30-19
The story was good. It kept my attention and made me want to hear what was coming next. Unfortunately, the narrator was part of that process. Every time she pronounced been as bean, and each time she put the emphasis on the wrong syllable (by US standards. admittedly) it diverted my focus to her, and away from the actual story. Like this author, but will probably pass on other audiobooks, if narrated by the same narrator.
