Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

I'm glad I ignored all the negative comments
Revisado: 10-24-22
Roy Dotrice is not a bad narrator, yes he slurps through some words and yes he mispronounced some names but not often and it doesn't take away from the overall performance.

Historia
Michael Corleone is returning to the U.S. after the two-year exile to Sicily in which listeners left him in The Godfather. But he is ordered to bring with him the young Sicilian bandit, Salvatore Guiliano, who is the unofficial ruler of northwestern Sicily. In his fight "to make Sicilians free people", the young folk hero, based on the real-life Giuliano of the 1940s, has made both the police and the Mafia his enemies.

Slow it down to 0.8 speed.
Revisado: 01-14-22
As someone else noted, slow down the speed to 0.8 and it will be quite enjoyable. I didn't read up much about this book before downloading but it's not really a sequel, it's another story in the Corleone universe. Nevertheless it was well worth a credit.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

The narrator ruined this book from the start.
Revisado: 02-02-21
The book is slow and the dialogue drags but it probably would have been tolerable if not for the narrator's horrible fake southern accent. Western North Carolina accents sound nothing like a "Gone With the Wind" type.
