You can’t go wrong with Dan Brown novels. While this was not my favorite topic of his- I still enjoyed the well-researched plot. It has a lot to do with US politics and the lengths politicians reach for in order to retain or acquire power. The protagonist , Rachel sexton was a well-written character. The plot deals with NASA and it’s discovery of a meteor with a life fork
From another realm. Others try and politicize the discovery and that’s where the story gets intriguing and full of twists - and you must love twists ! This was well worth 17 hours of listening. The performance was great .

This narrator made most of the character voices cringy. Other than that- this was a great story about human experience and relationships. I love this author but would not ever listen to this narrator again .

Great story - VERY well written . JK Simmons is so talented - although I didn’t like his voice for Rhee female characters - but there were not many so it was fine. Ove sure was a on a roller coaster of life and I know a person like him- so this was fun. The underlying suicide thing was sad- but didn’t detract from this fun read . The humor is intelligent and the characters deep. One of my favorites of all time.

First off the performance was okay- but men should read for males and women should read for females in my opinion. This author seemed to wrote like a very old person. It was a long listen because it was not relatable. The characters were not like real humans - they were an old lady fantasy of what humans should be like . I wished I’d stopped and gotten a refund .

If only they had used a male for the male voices - this performer was good - but the low tone she took for the males voice was hard to listen to. The best performances are when the male does a male
Voice and the female does a female character.
That didn’t take my rating down though. It was a great story and I enjoyed the writing . I loved the characters. I almost didn’t go on when I thought it was a about an alien- but I stuck with it and it turned out to be fun- endearing- exciting - and a few twists -

Wow!! Great read

This was exciting and heartwarming . Great twist -I loved every second and will now watch the movie. I had never heard of it and was lucky a member of my book club had us all read it . I loved the characters . Most people would probably not see the inconsistencies in the medical parts I did- I worked in a trauma center for many years of my career - orthopedic surgeons are not trauma surgeons and they don’t run the ER- board certified physicians in emergency medicine now run all ER’s. However that did not detract from the story

Not as bad as Book ! in this series

This book details a mystery on an island where a hurricane just occurred. It was quick and not boring. The protagonist is likable. The ending was good. Almost a 4 star read, but not as good as other Grisham books.
