Historia
The 25 years between the onset of the French Revolution in 1789 and the Bourbon Restoration after Napoleon in 1814 is an astonishing period in world history. This era shook the foundations of the old world and marked a permanent shift for politics, religion, and society - not just for France, but for all of Europe. An account of the events alone reads like something out of a thrilling novel.

I've never realized how modern these men and women are, in the way of their thinking. They were us.

Historia
A thrillingly original story of the adventures of a small band of feral cats in Delhi who communicate by whisker mind-link and face an unprecedented threat to their tribe's survival; for listeners of Life of Pi and Philip Pullman. In the labyrinthine alleys and ruins of Nizamuddin, an old neighbourhood in Delhi, India, lives a small band of cats.

The prose was long-winded, and this narrator made it worse
Revisado: 09-16-24
Be warned. You will need a patience of a saint to get through. The writing is unfocused, distracted, lengthy, and atmospheric. At least with the book version you don't have these childish voices and not so excruciatingly painful pacing.
And, oh, they do head-hopping between all characters within all scene. The protagonists don't do much, it's more of every bit (POV) of every cat and animal within Nizamuddin.
Overall, unlike what the cover might led you to believe, this is not an action-oriented book in any way; it's a slow book about life.

Directionless
Revisado: 09-18-23
Apart from the intriguing setting, the story itself is lackluster. As in, if you are interested in reading someone else's diary where they literally just write down everything that happened it their life, go ahead. But would it worth your time? I don't think so. This is obviously a webfiction, the 'plot' or events that actually worth listening to, will... I don't know when that is, but if you want an exciting/thrilling story, you would have to wait for a really long time—or a while—until you find those within this book.

Nonsensical plot and subpar narrator
Revisado: 09-06-23
Her characters' voice are mostly fine, although, some are exceptionally good. But... her narration is the worst, I've seen other animal fiction narrators do better than this. (I.e. Wizard familiar)
As for the story: The plot starts out of nowhere. The author barely establish the protagonist's character before sending her on an adventure. Terrible game/obstacles design. Annoying passive protagonist. Aimless.

Divided into four sections - Status, Spontaneity, Narrative Skills, and Masks and Trance - and arranged more or less in the order a group might approach them, the audiobook sets out the specific techniques and exercises which Johnstone has himself found most useful and most stimulating. The result is both an audiobook of ideas and a fascinating exploration of the nature of spontaneous creativity.

I'm not angry, I'm just tired... it's passable
Revisado: 04-05-23
I expected this book to be good, that perhaps the Erin might be able to pull off the first arc again, since the last book is so good, so much potential. Yet, I'm wrong. I... don't know what to think. It's less of an adventure book. This book is no escapist, in fact, my anxious level is pretty high when reading this. And in the end... I don't feel like this book is all that rewarding. Another pre-order for the 4th book I guess...
There are also like millions of monologues. Even in the middle of conversation! Can the pov shut up please? I mean, the narrations in her/his head. There are simply way too much of them, the characters are being a little bit too passive now.
The central conflict is pretty monotone too, why is this a big deal? Why are you guys making a fuzz about this? It's idiocy.
The writing is not exactly that bad, but it's also not exactly accpetable either.
• Frostpaw - 3.7/5: She is more confident in this book, yet, her pov is repetitive. Frostpaw in the last book is really good, her pov is fun to read, wild, funny even. But in this book? It's stable, sure. I like all of her decisions. Yet, there is just not that much going on like the last book. I would even say that if you skip 85% of her chapters, you wouldn't miss much.
• Sunbeam - 3/5: She is a mirror pov, where you can literally switch back and forth between her and Nightheart, and you would barely notice. She is the... opinion gal. Well, this book is literally a clan politic book. So she certainly does a lot of pointless talking and thinking.
• Nightheart - 2.7/5: This character will greatly benefit from shutting his mouth, and care less about the plot/story. And instead focus about what is in front of him. If you stand for nothing what'll you fall for? The writing on his chapters are questionable sometimes. I feel like his character is pushed around by the plot so much. He is way more anxious than the last book—who the hell is this tom?—the last time I remembered was that he is a free spirit cat, and determined.

Historia
The impossible has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler - the man who claimed to be god incarnate and brutally ruled the world for a thousand years - has been vanquished. But Kelsier, the hero who masterminded that triumph, is dead too, and now the awesome task of building a new world has been left to his young protégé, Vin, the former street urchin who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and to the idealistic young nobleman she loves.

Kelsier would be disappointed
Revisado: 12-10-22
The story is just... foolish. Nothing made sense until the last hour; sure, you might left me feeling awe. But I can't forget the 85% of the book where its content has been nothing... but a mist.
This book do not live up to the first one - the final empire - not even close. There are so many things wrong with it... the pace, the meaning, the thrill. Yet, I read this one to the very end.
If you like the first one. I firmly say that this book is not an extension of that, not at all. The world might still be the same, but the story engine that run it is entirely different; I want to to keep hold onto the good memory of the first book... but this book just made it all confusing.
my final conclusion:
If you want to read the entire mistborn serie, the 'worldbuilding' of it all. You may purchase it.
But if you want to feel the same way, as you had with the final empire. Don't purchase it.

The best arc since the prophecy begins
Revisado: 11-19-22
It might took them a long while in Act 1 since the last book, yes, too long. But we finally get some real story in this book. And I'm glad; Woah! I can't believe I have faith in the author again.
Let's just hope they don't bloodly mess that up in book 3... 6 months seem such a long time to wait now...
