Unique haunted house tale with a great backstory..

Setting - Decent.
History - Good!
Characters - No.
Plot - Where?
Not a haunted house book. The “demon” isn’t a demon... or it is… The story felt more like several story ideas that had a great foundations shoved together. Really rushed romance. Feelings felt surface value. The main character was just content to run around clueless and confused while side characters run around and do things we aren’t privy to until the last 15 minutes. And then the main character is a hero….?
Zero scares or chills. Had to listen to parts again because it just didn’t make sense.

The narrator did a really good job trying to bring some life into this book!
But, that being said…. The author must love her thesaurus on a deep level. It sounds like she’s trying to prove her intelligence by throwing every adjective she possibly can in each sentence. If you started a drinking game based on ridiculous adverbs/adjectives you’d be blacked out by page two. Made it 3 hours and I’m not finishing it.
