Historia
The nine-word clue was one of nine cryptic notes that had been sent to taunt Inspector Queen and his son Ellery nine days after the murder. Nino Importuna had been obsessed with the number. He had lived by it. Now the killer who brought a trio of gory deaths to Nino's ninth-floor penthouse at Number 99 East was camouflaging his identity in a jungle of nines - and daring Ellery to find him. The case was destined to be a dazzling contest of wits - to the ninth degree!

Meh

Not terrible, but the dialogue between characters was frustratingly drawn out and I personally found it exhausting to listen to. Won’t read/listen to another one of his books if this is his typical style.

Historia
In The Return of the Gods, Cahn takes the listener on a journey from an ancient parable, the ancient inscriptions in Sumer, Assyria, and Babylonia that become the puzzle pieces behind what is taking place in our world to this day, specifically in America. The mystery involves the gods. Who are they? What are they? And is it possible that these beings, whose origins are from ancient times, are the unseen catalysts of modern culture?

Interesting read
Revisado: 05-25-23
Author makes some interesting historical connections to modern society. He lost me when he started comparing abortion to slaughtering children on alters for sacrifice to the gods (he obviously does not understand why or how most abortions happen), and blaming women for the downfall of all of society because they became independent. Although a lot of his connections were interesting and made some sense, some of them seemed downright ignorant, sexist, and preachy. Regardless, it was a decent, thought-provoking read.
