I loved this book as I’ve loved all of the books in this series. It is careful to lead characters you might not think of otherwise towards the end of the story and it’s so fun to listen to. John Lee is the best as well, his narration is breathtaking!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter. I’ll admit that I was hesitant on venturing further into this universe fearing it might somehow ruin the previous trilogy’s magic for me.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
An absolute adventure. So much fun! And you find yourself really immersed not only in the story but the character development as well.

Good or Bad, this book is a novella. It is 16 hours long with an estimated 10-11 hours of stats. STATS on STATS on STATS. don't get me wrong, stats are a major part of this series and LitRPG in general but this one, oh boy...if it weren't for our beloved Nick Podehl at the helm, I would have zoned out more so than I did. It was fun at times but the lack of dialogue between anyone other than himself had me triggering shower thoughts for long periods of time. Like I said, it's a novella. There is very little to do with the many existing series plots from the previous 7 books and the ending is unfulfilling even though A.K. is awesome at leaving solid cliffhangers, we don't even get close to the horizon let alone a cliff. Oh well, I give this one a mulligan and can't wait to see what is in store. I'm going to see this series through to the end, its that good.

Poor Mans Version of LitRPG

After reading the first 7 installments of The Land by Aleron Kong, I was definitely looking to get my LitRPG fill whilst waiting for the 8th book so I came across this one. Man is it the most flat-lining book Ive listened to in a very long time. There just is no meat to the bones. There's not even enough marrow for the bones. Its just a bite off of The Land without the descriptive and narrative talents. Awful!

I can say without doubt that I made a massive effort to like this story. I rewatched and reread ALL canon before listening to this book and rewatching The Last Jedi in hopes I would end up liking the story. I’m just one of those SW fans that don’t and now I’m comfortable with that. Marc Thompson’s performance is outstanding as usual. Love his storytelling.
