Historia
Some of us are natural-born empaths - those with an exceptional gift for feeling and understanding the emotions, circumstances, and needs of others. But empathy, teaches Karla McLaren, is a universal human skill that we can all learn to awaken and use wisely. With The Art of Empathy, you will learn, step-by-step, the art of experiencing through the eyes and hearts of those around you - and to connect with and support them most effectively.

Understanding our humanity - the essence of who we are - is one of the deepest mysteries and biggest challenges in modern science. Why do we have bad moods? Why are we capable of having such strange dreams? How can metaphors in our language hold such sway on our actions? As we learn more about the mechanisms of human behavior through evolutionary biology, neuroscience, anthropology, and other related fields, we're discovering just how intriguing the human species is.

Somewhat Interesting but not Quite as Advertised

Repetitive but enjoyable light entertainment
Revisado: 06-16-17
Like a podcast with a weak link between episodes, lots of repitition and unnecessary suspence for points that were sometimes good, a few times really cool but mostly just fine.

Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.

Essentialism by a nonessentialist
Revisado: 07-08-16
Good first chapter with grest arguments for essentialism. The rest was written with so many half-relevant analogies, so many buzzwords and so many loose statements that you would think he was being ironic. Disregarding everything he is preaching, he is too busy filling the pages with words than giving the reader workable and to the point advice.

Historia
David Novak learned long ago that you can't lead a great organization of any size without getting your people aligned, enthusiastic, and focused relentlessly on the mission. But how do you do that? There are countless leadership books, but how many will actually help a Taco Bell shift manager, a Fortune 500 CEO, a new entrepreneur, or anyone in between? Over his 15 years at Yum! Brands, Novak has developed a trademarked program he calls Taking People with You.

Author's personal bragathon with little added value
Revisado: 01-27-16
Novak takes basic methods from solid authors such as Kotter and Kahneman and claims them as his own while spicing every page with self elevating birdwalks.
