Historia
When a group of international activists arrive on the Faroe Islands intent on stopping the traditional whale hunts, or grindadrap, tensions between islanders and protestors run high. And when a woman is found murdered only hours after a violent confrontation at a whale drive, the circumstances seem purposely designed to create even more animosity between the two sides. For Faroese detective Hjalti Hentze and DI Jan Reyna, the case quickly exposes personal connections and conflicts of interest.

Did not want to put it down!!
Revisado: 02-27-18
I love a book that follows along one track in present time! I had read and thoroughly enjoyed "The Blood Strand" which is the first in this trilogy and this second book "The Killing Bay" has now left me avidly looking forward to the release of the third. Of particular interest is the fact that the setting for the novels is in the Faroe Islands providing cultural interest as well as a great story line. Chris Ould has definitely become my most favourite author and Matt Addis did a superb job on the narration. I wholeheartedly recommend this author's books to everyone.

Quite uncomfortable listening in many places due to the grizzly content however Damien Goodwin was a total pleasure to listen to. He is about the best narrator I have ever heard.

Historia
Hollywood. Saturday night. A broken taillight leads to a routine traffic stop. It shouldn’t have changed the lives of the four men involved, but it did. The Onion Field is the frighteningly true story of a fatal collision of destinies that would lead two young cops and two young robbers to a deserted field on the outskirts of Los Angeles, towards a bizarre execution and its terrible aftermath.

It would be nice to sum up this audiobook in one word...BORING! However since I need at least 15 words let me say I couldn't even finish listening to it because life is just too short.

Historia
In this volume of The Flashman Papers, Flashman, the arch-cad and toady, matches his wits, his talents for deceit and malice, and above all his speed in evasion against the most brilliant European statesman and against the most beauiful and unscrupulous adventuress of the era. From London gaming-halls and English hunting-fields to European dungeons and throne-rooms, he is involved in a desperate succession of escapes, disguises, amours and (when he cannot avoid them) hand-to-hand combats. All the while, the destiny of a continent rests on his broad and failing shoulders.

Revisado: 11-30-14
I had purchased several other of the "Flashman" novels quite some time ago and had almost forgotten what an amusing and fun listen they were. I was delighted to find this one and it certainly did not disappoint. David Case simply has to be the best narrator I have ever had the pleasure of listening to... Brilliant!!

A truly wonderful listen!
Revisado: 07-08-14
Seldom have I had the good fortune to read (listen) to such an entertaining, amusing and well written autobiography. I became acquainted with Mr. Jason's "Jack Frost" persona through watching his sterling performances on the series "A Touch of Frost" which was shown here in Canada, but otherwise, I knew little about his acting career or life. He writes about himself with great humour and humility and the descriptions of his friends, co-actors and family bring them all to life. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a really good "listen"!

Historia
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours. Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret.

Superb!
Revisado: 02-23-14
Another great story by Tana French... and Steven Crossley is one of the best narrators I have ever listened to. If this was not an audio book it would definitely be considered a "page turner". At one time I also had the good fortune to download and listen to another of Ms. French's books called "Faithful Place" but notice it is no longer available. Two other of her books, while listed on Audible as being in the series are also not available and I sincerely hope at some point in the near future they will be made available for purchase. She is a superb writer!

Historia
On June 6, 1944, 150,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy and suffered an astonishingly low rate of casualties. A stunning military achievement, it was also a masterpiece of trickery. Operation Fortitude, which protected and enabled the invasion, and the Double Cross system, which specialized in turning German spies into double agents, tricked the Nazis into believing that the Allied attacks would come in Calais and Norway rather than Normandy.

Double agents revealed
Revisado: 09-25-12
Mr. Macintyre's account of the double agents in WW11 is most interesting and well researched. Unlike "Agent Zigzag" which concentrates pretty much on one man's life and contributions to the war effort, this book is not what I would call "easy listening" by any means however. One must pay attention or soon get lost in an attempt to keep track of the many characters involved, their oddball personalities and the events they participated in. Personally I had to start the book over from the beginning several times before getting a good grasp on each individual's story but then sometimes when listening to an audio book I can get easily distracted, and other listeners may not experience the same problem.

Historia
Carl Mørck used to be one of Denmark’s best homicide detectives. Then a hail of bullets destroyed the lives of two fellow cops, and Carl - who didn’t draw his weapon - blames himself. So a promotion is the last thing he expects. But Department Q is a department of one, and Carl’s got only a stack of cold cases for company. His colleagues snicker, but Carl may have the last laugh, because one file keeps nagging at him: A liberal politician vanished five years earlier and is presumed dead. But she isn’t dead...yet.

Mary, Katherine, and Jane Grey---sisters whose mere existence nearly toppled a dynasty and altered a nation's destiny---are the captivating subjects of Leanda de Lisle's new book. The Sisters Who Would Be Queen breathes fresh life into these three young women, who were players and victims in the violent and vicious world of Tudor power politics and whose heirs could otherwise be ruling England today.
