Historia
The Garden Café, next to Lissbeg Library, is a place where plans are formed and secrets shared, and where, even in high-tourist season, people are never too busy to stop for a sandwich and a cup of tea. But 21-year-old Jazz - daughter of the town’s librarian, Hanna Casey - has a secret she can’t share. Still recovering from a car accident and reeling from her father’s disclosures about his longtime affair, she’s taken a job at the Old Forge guesthouse and has begun to develop feelings for a man who’s strictly off-limits.

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-19-23
I’m sorry to say, this book was pretty boring and I’m not sure what the story was about as I kept drifting off into my own thoughts. Character development was not there, so I couldn’t get invested in their lives.

Historia
Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards and learning to accept love.

A very specific listen
Revisado: 05-12-23
I love Kristan Higgins stories, she fast became my new favorite author, until this book. The premise was good, but the too long explanations of eating disorders was boring and hard to relate to. The last half of the book was good and I felt like she was back to her wonderful writing instincts.

Excellent listen
Revisado: 04-25-23
This was a very interesting and engaging story. Full of history of the times. The narrator was one of the best I’ve had the privilege of listening to, easy to understand with wonderful inflection. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves the era and just wants a good listen!

Historia
Lila Bruce Breedlove never quite felt at home in Wesleyan, Georgia, especially after her father’s untimely demise when she was a child. Both Lila and her brother, Henry, fled north after high school, establishing fulfilling lives of their own. In contrast, their younger sister, Abigail, opted to remain behind to dote on their domineering, larger-than-life mother, Geneva. When their elderly mother dies suddenly and suspiciously in the muscadine arbor behind the family estate, Lila and Henry return to the town that essentially raised them.

Revisado: 01-13-23
I bought this book , thinking it would be a fluffy , easy listen. It captured me from the 1st chapter and kept me listening till the end. The narrator was excellent, easy on the ears and enjoyable to listen to. A wonderful story that feels like real people captured in fiction.

Revisado: 11-04-22
This was a wonderful book that once I got into it I couldn’t stop listening to. I’ve never known much about the Dakota except that John Lennon was shot in front of it , where he lived.
I enjoyed learning it’s history through a good story.

A wonderful and riveting story
Revisado: 06-05-22
I have read several books about the Nazis and the terrible thing Hitler put the Jewish people through. This was a story that put a real human theme to it and I felt like I knew the characters , their pain and joy, fright and sadness, hope and faith. I highly recommend this book and will listen to it again.

The best writer!
Revisado: 11-14-21
I had read the series several years ago , thinking it had ended, when a friend told me that there were 3 new books. I was so excited! My cup runneth over. I was so happy to see that audible had this and the next 2 books. Jan Karon is such a gifted writer and this one certainly lived up to the last 10. I highly recommend this and the entire series.

Hands down one of the best books I’ve listened to.
Revisado: 04-24-21
When I started listening to this book I said to myself “oh my goodness I wasted my money on this one.” But by the second chapter, I was totally engrossed in the story. I recommend this book, To anyone who loves adventure and the true meaning of love. I don’t want to say much about the story, because I don’t want to give anything away. But, it’s a good one!
