Historia
In a world full of super powers, Felix had a pretty crappy one. After learning to harness his ability to modify any item he owns, he now runs a corporation that is rapidly expanding - Legion. After tangling with the local Heroes guild they’ve finally settled into a semblance of stability. Sounds great on paper. Run your company, make money, be your own boss, settle down. Except that with running a business, comes an inordinate amount of responsibilities. Like making sure everything keeps running and your people are paid.

Yes W.D.Arand & N.Podehl, you bring beloved books
Revisado: 08-01-22
Yes W.D.Arand & N.Podehl, you bring beloved books - to answer the question posed to readers/listeners at the end of this book. Another very excellent book in this series. I've just bought the next, 3rd in this series as both Kindle and Audible, plus noticed there is a 4th book (yet concerned as no Audible offered!!! ... yet ;) ). another reviewer said author W.D. Arand does trilogies and warned that book 3 would be the end, but joy as there is a 4th in this series and I hope more.
For others considering this series:
(1.) This is not a series for youth, due to language and adult situational elements- but neither is this containing graphic harem scenes or gratuitous events just for being graphic or popular writing content.
(2.) Be prepared for a pragmatic main character (MC) that doesn't follow easy tropes plus uses logical decisions supporting his/thier needs, surrounded yes by many females but not the typical harem trope as he doesn't sleep with them all, plus he is not only surrounded by females, and yes he gets hurt, makes mistakes... plus has to admit such to himself and others around him. He learns, we see him learn, and sometimes we see his mistake coming before he does.
(3.) It's indeed a fantasy/sci-fi escapist world of the virtually unbelievable - but the author presents us with a setting and characters which make sense around the fantastic, and presents us with a story readers can follow without yelling at the book or narrator about events, decisions, plot details, and more. At the core, accepting the fantastic elements, it's a set of storylines that does make sense with human nature and modern mindsets.
(4.) The storyline is multi dimensional with an overall plot thread and surprises, but there are several side stories or woven subplots. We see the MC learn and grow but also main characters around the MC do also. Side characters have motivations for actions and these have a relatability to ourselves or those we may know plus how we or they might act or be.
I really need copy and paste this review into my review for book 1 of the series too. However I saw much more of these aspects in the second book, now that the first book introduced the world setting and dynamics so much, then I feel like there was room for more and deeper developments in book 2. Overall was very very enjoyable!!! (or I would say so, eh. ;) ).

In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

just excellent, one of best I've read/listened
Revisado: 07-28-22
This book was just excellent, one of best I've read/listened of like 3k digital and ?same? hardcopy books. True, at times the stats and numbers, particularly when a lot being discussed or important summaries done, are sometimes hard to read or hear (I have both the Kindle and Audible, and checked on both), but it does fit MC and world situation. Author will now be one I watch, and I went to start buying other books. even begore Audible had finished playing the epilog. The narrator is excellent and I will easily consider other books he does too.

Historia
The invaders are coming; the Posleen, a seemingly unstoppable horde who have conquered one star system after another, literally feeding on their conquests. Earth's dubious allies, the Darhel, have given the humans a number of highly-advanced technological devices, including a process for rejuvenating the aged, including trained and proven soldiers who otherwise would be too old to fight. Rejuvenation may give a critical edge, since to survive, the Earth must use every resource at hand.

excellent, touching but yes has difficult to hear
Revisado: 10-10-18
I read other reviews warning about this book, the context and contents, yet decided to try it as I deeply enjoy the series and the unique plot lines in the series. I found this book excellent, action based balanced with character development, military scifi, touching at times, but ... Yes, it has difficult to hear historical war crimes and inhumane treatment of our own species. however i think it was handled well, and neither favored one side or other but handled horrors of world war 2 in Europe with factual aspect which then showed the impact then plus over time ... all while within the larger stage of human fight for survival against an alien species, causing a need for all experienced soldiers and the very difficult decision to select some of them for rejuvination and use. I can see how some may not like this book; however, consider giving it a try. the author's afterward states clearly the intent was to shock and cause discussion. i myself am not normally emotionally moved by many terribly sad parts or any narrative; however, as a parent I was touched by (trying hard to avoid spoilers) a specific parent's delima for young children and then the afterward portion. Compliments and thanks to all involved, for a really good story plus one more book in an excellent longer series.

What an excellent start to a story
Revisado: 08-13-18
What an excellent story, which could stand well all alone, yet is the start of a series. I'm an avid reader and Audible listener when cannot read; at first I wondered if this novel might be geared towards younger audiences but as the story developed the clearly some of the content and language not meant for the faint of heart. This is a gritty, hard world and hard life narrative where we read/hear about several living at the bottom of a society controlled by the rich and powerful... so who takes care of the poor and controlled? they get a chance and start to control thier own lives. I will not spoil the excellent plot with multiple twists, but warn this might sound simple based on the description, yet its complexity and richness of both depth and character growth might surprise. Well done!

Revisado: 05-18-18

excellent, a different type of character
Revisado: 09-08-17
Excellenr book and an excellent audio presentation. The protagonist is a different type of character, which I found very welcomed and enjoyed. The audio performance ... because it was done much better than just a read through, as reader used variations in tone, accents and more ... was one of the best audio books which I've ever hear. i am guaranteed to look for both author and reader later ... after finish this review.
