If you've ever had a vague sense that something's missing from your life, congratulations. That longing for something better is a sign of being fully human, fully alive. But what's even more wonderful, according to Dave Richo, is that when you identify and carefully examine the things you long for - like love, meaning, freedom, happiness, and growth - not only do you discover deep truths about yourself but you also find that the things you long for were never really missing at all.

Definition of longing
Revisado: 12-31-23
Practicality of definition in most all respects shows the responsibility of definitions of longing as applied to more concepts of life usually related longing. The difference between desire and longing is explained well along with the comparisons to Buddhist psychology and practicality. Many examples of different philosophical teachings and religious beliefs are practically used revealing a oneness in world belief/faith systems.

Historia
How do Christians grow? Few question the call of the Bible to grow in godliness, but the answer to exactly how this happens is often elusive. In this audiobook, Dane Ortlund points believers to Christ, making the case that sanctification does not happen by doing more or becoming better, but by going deeper into the wondrous gospel truths that washed over them when they were first united to him.

I found this book made me acutely aware of some faulty thinking, like motives I didn’t realize I had. A book to listen to over and over!

Historia
In the book Abandonment to Divine Providence (published in 1851), he teaches the believer to submit to God’s will and to enjoy his loving presence. Abandonment is a term used by mystic writers to signify the first stage of the union of the soul with the divine, by conforming to God's will. Abandoning an outcome to God is to follow the path of peace. Originally written as letters for the direction of Nuns, the book is an excellent guide for Christians yearning to attain resignation and peace.

Excellent reminder of grace and love
Revisado: 06-07-20
One needs to overlook ancient catholic practices and traditions to glean the heart of the love of God and consider changes in understanding suffering. The main message of “thy will be done” is supreme but there are many conjectures about reasons for suffering unnecessary to nuns in the past.

Historia
First presented at a series of popular retreats, this full audio program takes a participatory approach to Merton's most useful teachings, helping us to discover our true self...to disappear into God; to be submerged into his peace; to be lost in the secret of his face, as Merton said, through daily practices including contemplation, prayer, and faith. In the end we find ourselves in what the Taoist sage Chuang Tzu called the Palace of Nowhere, where all the many things are one.

Historia
Many of us struggle to truly live what we believe spiritually. What if closing that gap wasn’t about trying harder, but something quite the opposite? The Way of Grace is an invitation to let go of the need for control, release our fears, and learn to be open and undefended with what is. Using teaching stories, guided meditation, self-inquiry practices, prayer, and more, Macpherson takes us step by step through the liberating process of undoing our fixed egoic patterns as we explore the four dimensions of Grace.

The revelations of the practices of presence and love
Revisado: 04-09-19
I absolutely loved everything about this book. I bought the paper book first and in it , wrote notes to correspond to audio sections so I could reference the most meaningful passages. They are all extremely meaningful. Miranda’s voice is like a dearest trusted friend which I turned to often to center myself in the things and concepts which at my heart have always agreed with my inner being, but were squeezed out by my ego, fears and the world. I couldn’t wait to learn everything she taught which has been helping me to integrate where I “was” with where I want to head. I would recommend this book to anyone with a love of the mysticism of all religions and of life it self, and who wants to grow in that vain. Miranda gives several practices to help you sustain the goal of radiating love to yourself, your dear and near ones and the world, which can be incorporated in your personal needs or shared with a trusted friend or group. I well up with thanksgiving to her, the divine and life through this experience.
