Extremely Helpful for UXers
Revisado: 04-02-22
I was designer and developer in a cross functional team and I wanted to learn how to help our small team excel. This book defined practices we already did without a name and created improved/new protocols for us. I recently transitioned to researcher and this laid the ground work for the new position. great read, but I highly recommend purchasing the phyiscal book for the references and guides.

Historia
From breakout stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger comes a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships. "Girl Logic" is Iliza's term for the way women obsess over details and situations that men don't necessarily even notice. She describes it as a characteristically female way of thinking that appears to be contradictory and circuitous but is actually a complicated and highly evolved way of looking at the world.

Lackluster and Boring
Revisado: 02-27-20
Note: I did not know who Iliza Shlesinger before I purchased the book. I purchased it because several people recommended it after reading both of Rachel Hollis's books.
--
I never wanted to stop reading a book so much as I did this book. I started and stopped it SO many times, but I just finished it because of the Audible Challenge. This book just didn't resonate with me at all. It could be the fact that the book was targeting 20-30 yr olds who are still single, but as a late 30s married woman with 2 kids I just couldn't relate to any of it. I firmly believe these types of book can offer at least a glimmer of insight or something remotely relatable, but I couldn't find it in this book. I would not recommend this to someone who read "Girl Wash Your Face" or "Girl Stop Apologizing". I might recommend this if you like chick lit and memoirs/autobiographies. I did laugh at some parts, but not many. In fact, the parts I laughed at were so forgettable that I can't even remember what they are as I write this. I just ended up disliking Iliza Shlesinger and completely uninterested in her comedian/acting/writing.
I wish I could return it and get my credit back honestly.

Bestselling author, speaker, and world-traveling success coach Jen Sincero cuts through the din of the self-help genre with her own verbal meat cleaver in You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. In this refreshingly blunt how-to guide, Sincero serves up 27 bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, life-changing insights, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word.

You Are A Meh Book.
Revisado: 01-27-20
I purchased this book because so many people recommended it especially after I read both of Rachael Hollis' books, but I didn't feel it was as good as those books. Sure there were some very quotable lines, but overall I found the writing style dull and performance lackluster.
I found her narration slow and fairly monotone. I wasn't engaged at all. For the first time, I used the speed setting just to keep me interested and to compete it.
As someone who enjoys this genre, I wouldn't immediately recommend it to someone, but I will review l revisit the few bookmarks I made.

Historia
Not too long from today, a new, highly contagious virus makes its way across the globe. Most who get sick experience nothing worse than flu, fever, and headaches. But for the unlucky one percent - and nearly five million souls in the United States alone - the disease causes "Lock In": Victims fully awake and aware, but unable to move or respond to stimulus. The disease affects young, old, rich, poor, people of every color and creed. The world changes to meet the challenge.

I was locked in immediately
Revisado: 02-21-19
I am not going to lie... I selected this book because I loved Wil Wheaton's narration of "Ready Player One" and after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed.
I loved the writing style of John Scalzi and I truly appreciated the ambiguous descriptions/details of the characters. I grew up in the MD/VA/DC area so I enjoyed the references to familiar places. The story feels like it could be our not-too-distant future with the way technology is heading. The story discusses ethics indirectly and how fallible technology can be. I will be purchasing the sequel "Head On".

Historia
Reese Witherspoon’s grandmother Dorothea always said a combination of beauty and strength made Southern women “whiskey in a teacup”. We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside, we’re strong and fiery. Reese’s Southern heritage informs her whole life, and she loves sharing the joys of Southern living with practically everyone she meets. She takes the South wherever she goes with bluegrass, big holiday parties, and plenty of Dorothea’s fried chicken.

Not My Cup of Tea
Revisado: 02-05-19
I have lived and worked in Nashville for over 10yrs. I appreciated the references to the area, but several of the places mentioned could also be discovered by doing a Google search about popular "things to do in Nashville". I love Reese Witherspoon as an actress and respect her entrepreneurial endeavors, but I was hoping for more from the book. I did enjoy some of the grains of wisdom from her grandmother (especially the rules to live by and how to know where bread/drink are placed), yet I wanted to learn more about her businesses and less about hosting events.
I want to keep in mind that she is showing her humble beginnings, but I can't help but to think it is fake considering her "Don't you know who I am" rant when pullover for DUI and constant name dropping.
I enjoyed her reading it and hearing her authenticate accent. However, I don't really connect with the story and wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

Christians are supposed to represent Christ to the world. But according to the latest report card, something has gone terribly wrong. Using descriptions like "hypocritical," "insensitive," and "judgmental," young Americans share an impression of Christians that's nothing short of . . . unChristian.

A Must Read for Christians!
Revisado: 08-06-18
Whether you are called to ministry or not, this book provides amazing insight in what "outsiders" think about Christians and what Christians think about both "outsiders" and other Christians. I love the amount of insight the book provides especially since it is based on both experience and marketing/statistical data. If you want to reach others and have meaningful relationships with them, then read this book. I enjoyed this book so much that I have decided to purchase a physical book so I can retain the statistics and to quote the book.
If you no longer want to be a "spiritual headhunter" and forge relationships and truly disciple, then read unChristian.
Let me leave you with one of my favorite parts from the book, "My personal commitment to transforming this negative perception is that I have stopped letting political and religious organizations represent me on this issue. I have decided to represent myself and by doing so I hope to accurately representation Christ. In my humble understanding of Jesus and the New Testament, I see a man who sought to restore relationships not destroy them. A man of compassion who was crazy in love with what the religious of His day deemed the “wrong crowd”."
