Historia
Golda Meir was a world figure unlike any other. Born in tsarist Russia in 1898, she immigrated to America in 1906 and grew up in Milwaukee, where from her earliest years she displayed the political consciousness and organizational skills that would eventually catapult her into the inner circles of Israel's founding generation. Moving to mandatory Palestine in 1921 with her husband, the passionate socialist joined a kibbutz but soon left and was hired at a public works office by the man who would become the great love of her life.

Historia
Called "the preeminent survey of American military history" by Russell F. Weigley, America's foremost military historian, For the Common Defense is an essential contribution to the field of military history. This third edition provides the most complete and current history of United States defense policy and military institutions and the conduct of America's wars. Without diminishing the value of its earlier editions, authors Allan R. Millett, Peter Maslowski, and William B. Feis provide a fresh perspective on the continuing issues that characterize national security policy.

Not a Military History
Revisado: 08-24-23
If you are looking for a Military History of the United States from 1607 to 2012 you will not find it here. This is a history of politics surrounding military appropriations. Found it quite uninteresting and did not fulfill its promise.

Historia
From 1951 to 1967 Egypt pursued a secret program to build military rockets that could have conceivably posed a threat to neighboring Israel. Because such an ambitious project required Western expertise, the Egyptian leader President Nasser hired West German scientists, many of them veterans of the Nazi rocket program at Peenemünde and elsewhere. These covert plans soon came to the attention of Israel’s legendary secret service, Mossad, and caused deep alarm in Tel Aviv.

Does not fulfill its promise
Revisado: 08-24-23
The focus of this book is from a 3rd party view and does not devote much time to the fate of Nazi scientists. It focusses more on the politics in Egypt. Could not finish it.

Historia
Angels in the Sky is the gripping story of how an all-volunteer air force helped defeat five Arab nations and protect the fledgling Jewish state. It is the exhilarating account of a ragtag band of volunteer airmen from around the world who fought for Israel during the war of independence. They arrived from America, Canada, Britain, France, and South Africa. Almost all were World War II combat veterans. Many, but not all, were Jewish, and many knowingly violated their nations' embargoes on the shipment of arms and aircraft to Israel.

Well Narrated. Riveting
Revisado: 03-24-21
This is a new aspect of the independence of the state of Israel. It tells the story of the origins of the Israel Air Force and at the same time ties it in with events on the ground. My only issue, and it’s not a serious one, is how often the narrator missed pronounced Hebrew names and Hebrew place names. It is entertaining why are you being thorough with numerous new information.
