Historia
The area surrounding Cashiers, North Carolina, is home to people of all kinds, but the world that Jacob McNeely lives in is crueler than most. His father runs a methodically organized meth ring, with local authorities on the dime to turn a blind eye to his dealings. Having dropped out of high school and cut himself off from his peers, Jacob has been working for this father for years, all on the promise that his payday will come eventually.

What a Joy to read!
Revisado: 08-19-21
I loved this book. I had never read anything by David Joy before and now I see what I was missing out on. The character development was incredible as were his descriptions. I felt like I was present during the entire story. The ending was incredible and not what I had expected at all.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

all I can say is that I really needed this, just at the right time and place in my life to read something that really resonates, realistically I can relate to, and not what I thought it was going to be at all. Thank you Mark for your candid words, although painful to listen to at times, so damned valid! Good luck to you and Godspeed on your next adventure!

Historia
We all witnessed some of the most shocking and confounding political events of our lifetime: the careening last stage of Donald J. Trump’s reelection campaign, the president’s audacious election challenge, the harrowing mayhem of January 6, the buffoonery of the second impeachment trial. But what was really going on in the inner sanctum of the White House during these calamitous events? What did the president and his dwindling cadre of loyalists actually believe? And what were they planning?

I loved every minute of this book. Was very well done, very well researched, very well narrated! I definitely will purchase his other books. It has been a long time coming and so glad this was written and published. Great historical account of this...the last four years of complete bedlum.

Historia
In our attempt to have the best, we often look to people to give us what only prayer can give. We look for things that can only be received via spiritual transfer. What we really need is prayer. Pastor John Hannah shares insights on how prayer is the most under-utilized tool in the treasure chest of Christianity, and it is a must-have. Just Pray explores the call, the seat, and the warfare of prayer.

I loved this wonderful book that I so needed right now in this time of turmoil. This book and pastor has changed completely how I feel and the way I pray about prayer. I can't say enough how much this has helped me. I loved the way the pastor used the scripture to drive home each lesson. It is beautifully written and narrated! Thank you, thank you, thank you! and God Bless you for writing such a wonderful , inspirational, and blessed book!

Historia
In Amanda Skenandore's provocative and profoundly moving debut, set in the tragic intersection between white and Native American culture, a young girl learns about friendship, betrayal, and the sacrifices made in the name of belonging. Told in compelling narratives that alternate between Alma's childhood and her present life, Between Earth and Sky is a haunting and complex story of love and loss, as a quest for justice becomes a journey toward understanding and, ultimately, atonement.
