Historia
When therapist Jill Davent moved to the village of Carsely, Agatha Raisin was not a fan. Not only was this therapist romancing Agatha's ex-husband, she dug up details of Agatha's not-too-glamorous origins. Jill also counsels a woman, Gwen Simple, that Agatha firmly believes assisted her son in some grisly murders, although there is no proof. Not one to keep her feelings to herself, Agatha tells anyone who will listen that Jill is a charlatan and better off dead.

Wrong narrator for this series
Revisado: 06-09-18
While I am a long time, devoted fan of the Agatha Raisin series, the reader for this book is just awful. Maybe she is right for another book, but I wasn’t even able to listen to the whole book. The accent is inconsistent and out of character for the series ... to the point of being a distraction. I bought this and the next book in the series ... and won’t even bother listening to the other one. A total waste of my monthly credits.

Historia
When Agatha Raisin left behind her public-relations business in London, she fulfilled her dream of settling in the cozy British Cotswolds, where she began a successful private detective agency. Unfortunately the village she lives in is about to get a little less cozy. Lord Bellington, a wealthy land developer, wants to turn the community garden into a housing estate. When Agatha and her friend, Sir Charles Fraith, attempt to convince Lord Bellington to abandon his plans, he scoffs.

Performance not in sync w charactor
Revisado: 10-10-17
The reader's voice sounded more like a Miss Marple type than Agatha Raisin. I felt the narrator did not learn about who Agatha Raisin is as a character and sounded more like someone inexperienced, reading to a group of children. The voice of Agatha should be more worn from cigarettes and city life ... a London accent with a hint of Birmingham coming through now and then. The accent and voice used here sounds a bit fragile and posh and too high pitched for Agatha. Not enough variation in voices of other characters, either ... I love the AR books, but the narration just made this one fall flat for me.
