The only problem is J.T. had no idea their pretend relationship would be better than anything real he's ever had.

Problematic premise

The protaganist selects her mixed race friend to incite her mother's ire because she could spin a story that he has "baby mamas" and a criminal history. He should've run from her. Or at least had a serious dialog about racism. The happy ending is frightening.
