Historia
Fusing details long known to Muslim scholars but inaccessible to popular audiences, Mohamad Jebara brings to life the gripping personal story of Islam’s founding prophet. From his dramatic birth to nearly being abducted into slavery to escaping assassination, Muhammad emerges as an unrelenting man on a mission. Surrounding the protagonist are dynamic women who nurture Muhammad; Jewish and Christian mentors who inspire him; and the enslaved individuals he helps liberate who propel his movement.

Excellent narrrative...but the Arabic is Terrible
Revisado: 09-19-24
Overall, it is an excellent rendition, but the reader should not attempt to transliterate the Arabic contained in the book.

Historia
The Middle East is a critically important area of our world. And, with its current prominence in international affairs, media images of the Middle East reach us on a daily basis. Much media coverage, however, is incomplete at best, failing to take account of either the complexities or the historical background of this pivotal region. For most of us, the real story of the Middle East remains untold. What made this crucial geopolitical area what it is today?

Truly one of the finest series of lectures on the Middle East
Revisado: 06-17-16
I have been a fan of the Teaching Company for almost the entirety of its existence, but of all lectures I've observed, this is the finest. It's rich, varied, accurate, and very intriguing. Despite all of my years in the region, I always came away learning so much. Truly, a diamond among a series of jewels!
