Historia
Raj and Rachel Ranjani have invited a small group of their “ride or dies” from college for a celebratory weekend in Napa Valley. On the agenda: three nights in the couple’s vineyard mansion, a lavish dinner at Napa’s hottest new restaurant, exclusive tastings, and the grand opening of the Ranjanis’ ultra-high-end winery. It’s a reunion of six friends who haven’t seen each other in years. What could go wrong?

Really engaging story - hooked from the first chapter!
Revisado: 04-10-24
I flew through this audiobook! I loved the characters. They were so multidimensional, and almost all of them were relatable in a different way. I didn’t know whether to hate some of these characters, or to feel compassion for them and give them a hug, and I think that’s the hallmark of good character development. The story was also so well developed, and the interactions and individual story lines of each character were really fascinating. I don’t want to spoil much, but the story reels you in from the first chapter, and I just couldn’t stop listening!

Historia
A clinical psychologist’s exploration of the modern dilemmas women face in the wake of new motherhood. When Molly Millwood became a mother, she was fully prepared for what she would gain: an adorable baby boy; hard-won mothering skills; and a messy, chaotic, beautiful life. But what she did not expect was what she would lose: aspects of her identity, a baseline level of happiness, a general sense of well-being.

A must read for every mother
Revisado: 01-13-24
I strongly suggest this book for anyone who has a child, six months or older. The emotions of modern motherhood are so complicated, and the shame and the guilt make everything so much harder. This book is really incredible and it lays out all the different challenges that come up after motherhood, especially in terms of marriage. And understanding how common the struggles are is just one aspect of moving through them, but she also provide examples of couples who got past them. Really helpful.

I couldn't put this down!! My poor to do list was ignored for days! The story and the characters are incredibly relatable, because they all have different internal struggles and I'm sure you'll related to one or more of them in many ways. This book really also helped me think about so different issues...it's very thought provoking. Can't go wrong with one!!

I really loved this book!! It does an incredible job of navigating through all the complex emotions of the main characters. You really feel like you know these people...they are just written so well. The story took a lot of unexpected turns, but I enjoyed all of them! Wonderful and heartfelt story about self-discovery at any age.

When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?
