Historia
In 2008, nine mountaineers failed to return from a winter backpacking trip in the New Mexico mountains. At their final campsite, searchers found a bizarre scene: something had appeared at the door of their tent so terrifying that it impelled them to slash their way out and flee barefoot to certain death in a blizzard. Despite a diligent search, only six bodies were found, two violently crushed and inexplicably missing their eyes. The case, given the code name “Dead Mountain” by the FBI, was never solved. Now, two more bodies from the lost expedition are unexpectedly discovered in a cave.

Read the book, please don't listen
Revisado: 08-16-24
Not sure why the gentleman insist on using this narrator, but her "almost" lisp with drive you crazy. The premise of the book is a good one. Corrie must be a genius because she figured everything out. The language in parts was almost simplistic and then it would revert to adult. Nora's brother is painfully immature and not helpful to the narrative. Again, I would recommend a read but not a listen

Nicely done
Revisado: 05-19-24
I had read a lot of negative reviews about the story and the narrator. I beg to differ. I thought the narrator did a stellar job. Had me on the edge of my seat a few times. You may think it’s a repeat of an older story but it’s got its own narrative that has some good turns. I enjoyed it as did my husband - we listen in the car. Get lost in this one for several hours and just have a good time.

Unfortunate decline of the Evan Smoak series
Revisado: 04-12-24
The WORST book and Narrator. I have listened to the whole series annd really liked it but this one just fell off the side of the mountain. Plus the whine and angst in Scott Bricks narration almost made me …. Evan’s character is lost; Joey is obnoxious. I can only hope Mr Hurwitz sees this and understands where my review is coming from.

Read it, don’t listen
Revisado: 06-07-23
Perhaps the vomiting toddler and baby speak might be better endured in a print format, but listening to it is pure torture. The antagonist is a jerk and the protagonist is just annoying. I’m half way through and not sure I can listen to the rest, Sorry David B. I usually love your books but this one is a fail
