Historia
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

Insightful & logical
Revisado: 05-15-20
This book should be a must read for everyone. Well stated, logical arguments and interpretations of what is going on in the US today. Taught me a lot and gave me a better understanding of how our country has gotten to such a self destructive point, and also how we can work to reverse it! Very fair analysis. His personal background is not only inspiring, but also adds to his credibility on these topics. So glad I read this.
Can’t wait for Crenshaw to be President!

This book was very detailed and gave all of the facts. I've done some research on the case myself and everything was very accurate and well written. Although the story is of course awful and sad, the book was great.

Historia
Two victims of the infamous Cleveland kidnapper share the story of their abductions, their decade in captivity, and their final, dramatic rescue. On May 6, 2013, Amanda Berry made headlines around the world when she fled a Cleveland area home and called 911, saying: “Help me, I’m Amanda Berry...I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years". A horrifying story rapidly unfolded. Ariel Castro, a local school bus driver, had separately lured Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight to his home, where he kept them chained in the basement.

Breathtaking

I cannot put into words how this story has affected me. I could have been in their shoes. I was around their age when they were both taken and living in the Cleveland area. I am so glad that they have shared their story, not just for those who are curious but for themselves to try and heal. Thank you for telling your stories.
