Historia
Andrea Vernon always thought she would spend her life living in Paris writing thought-provoking historical novels all day and sipping wine on the Seine all night. But the reality is she's drowning in debt, has no prospects, and is forced to move back to Queens, where her parents remind her daily that they are very interested in grandchildren. Then, one morning, she is kidnapped, interviewed, and hired as an administrative assistant by the Corporation for UltraHuman Protection. Superheroes for hire, using their powers for good. Humor fell largely flat, and slice of life stuff kept breaking suspension of disbelief by how unrealistic it was.

Historia
Alex Schwartz had a great job and a promising future - until he caught an unfortunate bout of vampirism and agreed (on pain of death) to join the Laundry, Britain's only counter-occult secret intelligence agency. His first assignment is in Leeds - his old hometown. But the thought of telling his parents he's lost his job, let alone their discovering his 'condition', is causing Alex almost as much anxiety as his new lifestyle of supernatural espionage. His only saving grace is Cassie Brewer, a student from the local Goth Festival.

Historia
Everyone would benefit from seeing further into the future, whether buying stocks, crafting policy, launching a new product, or simply planning the week's meals. Unfortunately, people tend to be terrible forecasters. As Wharton professor Philip Tetlock showed in a landmark 2005 study, even experts' predictions are only slightly better than chance. However, an important and underreported conclusion of that study was that some experts do have real foresight.

Historia
In a world full to bursting with would-be heroes, Jim couldn't be less interested in saving the day. His fireballs fizzle. He's awfully grumpy. Plus, he's been dead for about 60 years. When a renegade necromancer wrenches him from eternal slumber and into a world gone terribly, bizarrely wrong, all Jim wants is to find a way to die properly, once and for all. On his side, he's got a few shambling corpses, an inept thief, and a powerful death wish. But he's up against tough odds....

Revisado: 01-14-18
The concept is fascinating, but perhaps too close to Yahtzee’s day job; several times, the humor is bleak and bitter, as is the story.

Gripping, and classic Dresden at action
Revisado: 09-03-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Skin Game to be better than the print version?
Yes. The audio version makes Dresden's emotions much more compelling
Who was your favorite character and why?
Goodman Grey. Guy acted like a reasonable, intelligent person for the whole book
Have you listened to any of James Marsters’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
nope :-/
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Double the heist, double the trouble

Historia
Dr. George K. Simon knows how people push your buttons: your children---especially teens---are experts at it, as is your mate. A coworker may quietly undermine your efforts while professing to be helpful, or your boss may prey on your weaknesses. Manipulative people have two goals: to win and to look good doing it.

Over-applicable babble
Revisado: 09-03-14
What would have made In Sheep's Clothing better?
If the advice it gave wasn't so general; as it stands, this reads like a manual to blame everybody else for your own mistakes
What could George K. Simon have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
If he'd actually gone and spoke to some of the "psychopaths" he was describing
What aspect of Kevin Foley’s performance would you have changed?
Not much, actually
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from In Sheep's Clothing?
most of the anecdotal evidence
Any additional comments?
Don't buy this!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

What could Robert Greene have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
If he'd brought some actual proof behind what he was saying
How could the performance have been better?
