Great story and characters
Revisado: 10-19-22
This is avery compelling story with wonderful character development. Abby Craden brings the characters, Jenny and Kathryn, to their full believable self. In my second listen, I’ve found a wealth of detail missed previously.
J E Leak easily blends the genres of historical and lesbian fiction. This book goes far beyond the bounds of “lesbian romance”.

Beyond escapism
Revisado: 09-12-22
Story and narration exceptional. Gerri Hill’s 2007 story is deserving of Abby Craden’s narration 15 years later.
I hope lesbian romance will continue to step beyond “the happy ever after” story line. There are many beginnings of lesbian love as well as varied endings.

Revisado: 06-08-21
A fun book to “audible” again. A wonderful story of the passions of young love through chapter 3. True to life the characters go on to develop, grow, stumble but love is the theme of many of the characters lives. Ill read it again in a few years.

Excellent series. Complex characters with complex relationships. The plot holds the books tightly together. Throughout, the author continues to develop and deepen each relationship introduced while continuing to develop the established relationship. The relationships go far beyond the typical lesbian love story. Great narration. Each character is individualized by the depth and expertise of the narrator.

Gerri Hill and Abby Craden are a great author, narrator duo. I’m so glad G Hill is fortune to have A Craden as narrator on all her books. The author writes an intriguing story with enough romance for satisfaction. I was completely surprised with the final few lines of the epilogue. I didn’t expect an answer to the unasked question at the center of the story. Good work!

Historia
Before she was a trauma cleaner, Sandra Pankhurst was many things: husband and father, drag queen, gender reassignment patient, sex worker, small businesswoman, trophy wife... but as a little boy, raised in violence and excluded from the family home, she just wanted to belong. Now she believes her clients deserve no less. A man who bled quietly to death in his living room. Sarah Krasnostein has watched the extraordinary Sandra Pankhurst bring order and care to these, the living and the dead - and the book she has written is equally extraordinary.

A wonderful compelling unraveling of a person’s life. Punctuated with stories of people living under the weight of “too much “, with a brief reveal of the author. A complete statement regarding the need for human connectedness in life. Thank you Sarah K and Rachael T for a TOP Audible listen.

Historia
Scholar and award-winning author Faith Fitzgerald has every reason to be happy: a wealthy, charming man who adores her and a family cheering her marriage prospects. But from the moment she meets Eric's sister, Sydney Van Allen, she knows her safe, predictable feelings for him are a shadow of what could be. Openly lesbian and running for senator, Sydney can only succeed if she can live down her wild past. That means no liaisons, especially with the achingly alluring woman on her brother's arm who looks at her with confusion - and desire.

Revisado: 09-16-20
Great character development, with a good amount of Med evil history woven in. Brother Eric is a bit too good to be believable. Narration a plus. Abby Craden is the only narrator I know that can make an alcoholic’s desire for a drink sound sexy.

PTSD
Revisado: 12-14-19
This book is a well written depiction of PTSD. the grave human toll PTSD takes on veterans and family members is easily understood.
I liked the relationship stuff too. Missed it. Glad they were able to find one another again. Reality shines throughout this book.
