Historia
A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

Another ESCELLENT book by Eric Metaxas
Revisado: 04-30-19
I started with his book "Amazing Grace" about William Wilberforce and found myself wanting to continue on as if I had walked along side Wilberforce, walking as his friend and Christian sister. What a man. Once again, in this book on Bonhoeffer, I find myself so grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside another brother so strong and able, so humble and caring. If these two men do not hear the words "well done, good and faithful servant," no one will. Eric Metaxas has done something so astounding in capturing the days, times and thoughts and actions of two great men of God. We are blessed the Lord has given him such a gift. I am now looking forward to hearing his other works. The reading of this book was EXCEPTIONAL and I really mean that word. Such a talent is this narrator. I will be looking for his performances of other books as well. I thank the Lord to also see in this story there were many, many men and women of great character at a time in Germany's most dark moment who desired to stand for righteousness. Too often I ask "how could a Christian nation allow a Hitler?" Metaxas shows how this can happen and also show the Lord ALWAYS has a remnant who will not bow the knee to evil. I pray I can be counted among them as the days shorten before the return of the Lord.

Historia
Amazing Grace tells the story of the remarkable life of the British abolitionist William Wilberforce (1759-1833). This accessible biography chronicles Wilberforce's extraordinary role as a human rights activist, cultural reformer, and member of Parliament. At the center of this heroic life was a passionate 20-year fight to abolish the British slave trade, a battle Wilberforce won in 1807, as well as efforts to abolish slavery itself in the British colonies.

Outstanding

Outstanding... I could write so much but will suffice to say the write did an outstanding job of bringing to life the story of a remarkable man. Well worth the read (or listen!) Honestly makes me want to listen again. Makes me want to watch the movie again with same title. What a man and how we need to pray for the men and women of our current time who have the same attitude about the value of life and how Christianity, when Biblical Christianity is put in practice, can change the world.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

the narrator did great but I would have much preferred to hear author read his book or someone who sounded more like him. silly I know, but found, in this case, the british accent distracting. found myself trying to hear author's voice all of the time

Historia
A plan to destroy America, a hundred years in the making, is about to be unleashed. There is a powerful technique called the Overton Window that can shape our lives, our laws, and our future. It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Change the debate and you change the country.
