Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

it's pretty funny
Revisado: 09-05-24
it's funny and engaging. the narrator's delivery and accents are terrific. it's a little deeper on a re-read, which is kind of surprising in a good way. I hope the series goes on for 30 books

SCIENCE fiction with Newtonian physics
Revisado: 02-14-24
Really interesting plot and enough science in the fiction to make the science fantasy believable. Our characters are gritty, and noble, and funny and brave, and the antagonists are scary and believable. Better than Game of Thrones but kind of like GoT in SPACE!

Historia
The galaxy’s worst bounty hunter just might be its most relentless hero. Esper Richelieu is a wizard with a mission: To make the galaxy a better place one lost soul at a time. Donning the trappings of an interstellar bounty hunter, she delves into the galaxy’s underworld to search out those most in need of help. Whether it’s a teenage runaway or an actor kidnapped by cultists, the victim comes first. Money is an afterthought. That confuses a lot of clients. But sometimes the best way to get someone to accept the help they need is to convince them to pay for it.

Riveting and Cheerful romp
Revisado: 12-31-21
Loveable characters, mostly episodic storytelling but with an elegant storyarc. Brilliant narration reminiscent of a radio play. Funny and good-hearted.

Sanderson's WOT: always a pleasure to re-read
Revisado: 06-17-21
This is the first of Sanderson's trilogy of WOT books. His writing style is well suited to taking up Jordan's grand vision and his singular style.

Creepy but not in a good way
Revisado: 01-12-21
I think the author thought that the ending was a happy ending, but I thought it was creepy. I don't want to give any spoilers if you plan the read the book. the protagonist is a jerk, but I think we're supposed to like him. None of the other characters are fleshed out... literally. There were a lot of Pop Culture references, but I'm so annoyed that one of them he gets song lyrics wrong to a TMBG song. Seemed lazy, like, doesn't the author have Google?

The potato chips of epic fantasy
Revisado: 05-30-18
Not terribly nutritious but satisfying in a vapid way. Still wondering why I've read the series multiple times, when it's arguably terrible. The character development sucks. I guess it's sort of mesmerizing like a first person shooter game where you don't actually have to shoot anything, but it has great graphics. There's better fiction, but 40 hours of entertainment for 15 bucks is a good deal. Who the hell tugs their braid in frustration? It's like Jordan has never actually conversed with a live woman... or maybe even people in general. Nice scenery, though. Worth reading the series to get to the Sanderson books...
