I love anthropomorphism, and this was done with excellence. Part narrative, part super sleuth mystery, it’s a tale of friendship, connection and family restoration. Loved it!

I like all of the characters. Their personalities each unique and important each of their adventures is crucial to the story. Most of the voices are well matched to each character, but the way the reader says the word water throughout the book drives me crazy.

Crowfeather’s trial to transformation

Crowfeather… a stuck cat with a chip on his shoulder, who had the personality of a curmudgeon cat with a chronic peace of tough crowfoot stuck in his throat, was a cat who was bitter in love and let this define his life. On the flip side, his angry son and his innate sense of righteousness helped him overcome himself, stand up to leadership gone awry and ultimately form diplomatic associations with important outcomes. The book started slowly, had a compelling story line and ended in a satisfying way. It’s worth the listen.

I liked how Hawkwing matured throughout the story. One tense dramatic , deadly and devastating encounter after another and the cats persevered. The leading cat should have been taken to task for her stubbornness.

I love the book, and after being a huge MacLeod Andrews fan, I’m so happy that the narrator for this book is good. Please make James Fouhey THE voice of Bravelands.

I thought I would be bored in the beginning but the mystery got increasingly intriguing. I’m a Christian and I have often found modern Christian novelists to be generic and “Hallmark.” This character represented being a survivor of a major horror. She also faced her fears and has grit. I liked the pirate aspect . The narration pacing and emphasis as well as pronunciation need some work.

I am looking forward to more from this author.

I felt so sad and resolved at the end of this book. I feel angst but thankful that the Warrior series doesn’t kowtow to Disney endings where everyone gets what they want for a book to end.

Graystripe got what he truly deserved, to be the leader and hero we knew him to be. He was the full package. A great friend, confident in a supporting role never leading with ego but knowing his own mind. I grew to love Bristlefrost, what a dynamic character, and I grieved along with Shadowsight and the parents and the queen at the end.

After reading other reviews, I agree with so much of what other reviewers were saying.
