This contemporary noir novel is reminiscent of James M. Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice, with a heavy dose of sexual realism that Cain might have enjoyed if his times would have allowed.

Great Book!!
Dark story , but very well written noir the Author is really good Will read her next book.

Bad Girl Trying to Be Good
Hendricks is literary noir at its best. I remember discovering her first stories in the 90s and literally screaming in my bed as turned the penultimate page.
In this book we get a bad girl trying to clean up her life, but she falls in with the wrong--maybe the worst possible--man.
Everything I look for in a crime novel is here--bad girls, dangerous men, damaged heroes, mystery, and sex.
