Acerca de esta escucha

Nikolai is the master vampire to his coven, in a world where humans and paranormal beings live together in peace...usually. When a pack of rogue coyote shifters threatens the city, Nikolai answers a call for aid from the local police department; humans are no match for the speed and strength of paranormals.

On his mission, Nikolai stumbles across a young man named Israel who is in need of help and terrified of the world around him. In an instant, Nikolai realizes that this precious angel is his fated mate; the one he’s bound to love and cherish for all time. Israel is in need of someone to protect and nurture him; he needs a Daddy, and Nikolai, having waited nearly a millennium for a boy of his own, is his perfect match. Israel feels safe and at peace for the first time in his life as he explores his little side and places his trust in his vampire Daddy’s strength and care.

This M/M romance features my take on vampires and other paranormal beings. They share many (but not all) attributes of vampires found in other fictional works. This world is different from those found in my other paranormal series, and the vampires’ properties differ as well. This low angst book contains insta-love between fated mates on a fast track romance, steamy scenes, a touch of danger, and age play between a powerful vampire Daddy and his sweet human little. Together, they explore elements including diapers and latching.

Masterpiece

this was already one of my favorite books from Jayda Marx's and now with the help from Simon Dornet's AMAZING spot on narration. It's just a work of pure perfection to me. I love it!

Love this series!

Another winner! I love Jayda Marx's books! They always make me smile. I enjoyed this unique version of vampires. Nikolai is the sweetest Daddy, yet is one powerful vampire. Israel is an adorable little who needs someone to love him and cherish him like he deserves. I liked Jett and can't wait to listen to his story soon. This was my first narration by Simon Dornet. I really liked his character voices.

Absolutely horrible.

I’m not much of a picky person when it comes to books. I can read/listen to almost anything, but this book truly was hard to sit through. I didn’t even end up finishing it.

The plot as a whole is not a bad concept, instant love is a trope I can get behind wholeheartedly. Throw in some age play and it’s chef’s kiss. Plus, who doesn’t love a good vampire romance? However, the execution of both the plot and characters was done poorly.

The entire thing felt rushed and poorly paced. I understand the instant love trope, but there is zero substance to any of the moments shared between Izzy and Nikolai. All of the moments felt like the author was just checking concepts she wanted to incorporate in this off of a checklist. No true substance or build up at all.

I also find Izzy insufferable. He was written very poorly. Age play is one thing, but the man literally talked and behaved like an actual child throughout the entirety of the book up until I literally could not take it anymore and had to stop listening.

Even during certain parts where there was no reason to be behaving in such a way because there was no age play going on at all, he acted like a child. At the beginning he was already being portrayed as a child when nothing was established and it was disturbing honestly.

It made it seem like Izzy was mentally challenged in some way and incapable of thinking for himself. As well as at times seem like he was an actual child and Nikolai was his actual father. Very weird and strange vibes.

Nikolai was also written very poorly. He lacked substance just as much as Izzy did and didn’t provide any type of actual personality out side of being Izzy’s daddy/mate and being master vampire of his coven. That is literally his entire personality.

When he wasn’t thinking about how cute and adorable Izzy was, or about Izzy’s needs, he was thinking about the coven’s needs. Which it isn’t bad for a character to have that type of general thinking/way about them, but I feel as though that shouldn’t make up the entirety of who that character is as a whole.

Like both of them could’ve actually been given personalities and not whatever this entire book is. I don’t even want to keep typing anymore because I feel like I could keep going forever, but overall, one star.

If zero or negative stars were a thing, I’d probably go with that. The story was a big fat zero. Along with the characters, if you could even call them characters honestly.

The narrator didn’t do a bad job with narrating Nikolai at all, but the same cannot be said for the way Izzy sounded. It sounded like nails on a chalkboard every time Izzy said something and it absolutely killed me. Hence the I give the performance a solid two stars.
