My life work is focused on helping women to grow into their innate power though my fiction and non-fiction works and public speaking. As a trained linguist, I've also created a 'better' English (WEnglish for WEquality) that give 'those of us who aren't men' a few (five) words of our own. I started life without knowing I had that power. As a child, then a woman, I learned that men were superior to me. I married at age 21, co-created two children, and tried to live that 'submissive' wife life but failed miserably--for which I am now profoundly thankful. After my divorce, I began the adventure of securing a job, co-supporting my family, and eventually creating my own successful, national consulting business that helped provide much needed, affordable rental housing, primarily occupied by single parents and their families and seniors. I remarried after six lovely years of being single; then around the age of 40, I started writing stories that I call 'Intention Fiction' because each novel has a theme with a solution to a particular life issue. Almost thirty years later I have created six novels (one award-winning, titled Death by Roses), a four-book series titled, 'The Avery Victoria Spencer Fables, and a memoir titled 'I Was a Yo-Yo Wife...Until I Learned THIS (which helped me learn how to save my second marriage). My current work (Breaking the Bias of English--due out for Woman's Equality Day 2023) is based on my desire to give those of us who aren't men, a few of our own words. Most of us don't realize that English is highly masculine and that even words for us commonly include 'man words'. How can we be equal if our words keep us attached to men? Part I shows how English discredits us (and what we can do about it) and Part II shares what I've learned about how to be equal. It's still a challenge for us. 'The Avery Victoria Spencer Fables' are written in both English and WEnglish for WEquality. Reading in this new way is very easy.
