Stephen Schneider is a professor in the Department of Criminology at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His research projects have delved into crucial areas such as money laundering, contraband smuggling, fraud, and marine container port security, and innovations in combating organized crime. His insights have helped to shape organized crime enforcement policies and strategies in Canada. His expert testimony has been pivotal in criminal cases, Charter cases, and regulatory hearings. Stephen is the author, co-author, and editor of eight books, including textbooks on organized crime and crime prevention. He has also published peer-reviewed books on community crime prevention and money laundering (co-authored with Margaret Beare) and a best-selling true crime book on the history of organized crime in Canada. His latest book, to be published by New York-based Routledge, develops a comprehensive conceptual model of a criminal organization.
