Rachel Coler Mulholland is a counselor and university professor from small-town Minnesota. She has dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and human services, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. While living in rural Minnesota, Rachel has provided mental health skills training for children with severe emotional disturbance in a school-based day—treatment program, school-based counseling for high school students, and counseling for college students of varying ages. She focuses her course objectives and professional energy on resilience development, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions, assertive communication, interpersonal skills, and self-efficacy. In addition to her academic work, Rachel spends a little bit of her free time traveling, doing home renovations, and making parenting content on social media. The bulk of her free time is spent doing fun stuff with her three kids, like driving them to dance or theater, watching their sporting events, and getting her butt kicked at video games. She also enjoys karaoke, an ever-changing array of crafty hobbies, and almost winning at trivia.
