Amazon Author’s Page Martha Hamilton and Mitch Weiss are award-winning authors of more than twenty-five books for young readers. Their most recent books are a series called “Noodleheads”—funny graphic early readers that are loosely based on world tales about fools. The series is co-authored with and illustrated by Tedd Arnold, creator of the best-selling Fly Guy series. “Noodlehead Nightmares” was a finalist for the 2017 Children's Choice Book Award. “Noodleheads See the Future” was awarded a Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) Honor and a Notable Book of the Year Award from the American Library Association, as well as the Aesop Prize from the American Folklore Society. The accolades have continued for “Noodleheads Find Something Fishy,” “Noodleheads Fortress of Doom,” “Noodleheads Lucky Day,” and "Nooodleheads Do the Impossible". Martha & Mitch created free, virtual “Ready to Go” Author Visit videos for some of the books in the “Noodlehead Series”. In the videos they tell the folktales that inspired the story, read part of the book, explain some of the idioms that the characters, Mac and Mac, take literally, and encourage children to create their own stories. These videos—and much more—can be found at NoodleheadsBooks.com. Also known as Beauty & the Beast Storytellers, this husband-and-wife team retired (as storytellers, not as authors) in 2020 after sharing their tales all over the world for forty years. As a result, most of their story collections and picture books are well-crafted retellings of world folktales. Their book, "Children Tell Stories: Teaching and Using Storytelling in the Classroom," which is used in the teaching of storytelling from elementary schools to college courses, won an Anne Izard Storyteller's Choice Award and was praised by award committee members as "an infectiously enthusiastic book on the methods and merits of teaching storytelling to children . . . imaginative, inspiring, easy to read, and tremendously engaging . . . a terrific book that will be a classic for years to come." “The Ghost Catcher” received the Irma Black Honor Award for Excellence in Children's Literature (awarded by Bank Street College of Education).
