Ms. Crum-Derr is an educator that has taught every grade from kindergarten all the way to the 12th grade. She spent most of her time teaching middle school which is where she gained a interesting perspective on middle school students.The middle school years is the focus of her book Mermaid Hair The braid. She lives with her family and many many many pets. Her plan is to add two more books to the series; The Knot and Combing out the Knots which delve further in to the secret which is the central point of the series. Ms. Crum-Derr is currently teaching elementary school and is enjoying it though she does miss middle school. She earned mulitple degrees i n fine art, applied art and art education as well as a teaching certification, masters in instructional technology and technology leadership. So clearly she likes to learn.Creating characters and trying to make others laugh and find joy are hobbies as well as laundry. Laundry has become a hobby through no fault of her own.
