Karen Stanley is a serial entrepreneur whose business ventures began in elementary school where she bought fire balls for a penny and sold them for 2 cents. She was originally planning to be an opera singer and studied Vocal Performance at BYU for three and a half years. In 1997, Karen packed up all her belongings into her 1978 mustard yellow Datsun B210 and drove to Arizona to study with a former Metropolitan Opera singer and enjoy the warm sunshine and boundless citrus. Her marketing career started when she got hired to answer phones at an advertising agency where she grew to love the business and worked her way up from receptionist to Account Executive in a few short years while also singing professionally. In 2008-2009, she went through a divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and repossession of her car, and joined another marketing agency where she was able to work from home as a newly single mom with a 5-year-old and a three-year-old. During the eight years prior to her last first date, she experienced the ups and downs, joys and challenges of raising two children as a single parent while running a business and trying to navigate dating. Eight years of attracting men who didn't love her and didn't want what she wanted led her to become disillusioned and frustrated. She came to a point where she believed that it just wasn't possible for her to find real love that lasts a lifetime. Karen believed that there must be something wrong with her DNA, or that she was damaged goods because of her past. Then she attended her best friend's wedding and it hit her. She realized that if it can happen for one of us, it can happen for all of us. Karen had a revelation that you can’t expect anyone to love you, respect you, and trust you until you love, respect, and trust yourself. And if you want to attract a partner like you've always wanted, you have to become the person you've always wanted to BE. This sent her on a mission to repair her low self esteem and create systems to help become the person she wanted to be. Seventeen months later, she walked into one of her client's stores, and he saw her as if she were a different person. That's because she WAS a different person. That client was John Stanley. The same man she had known in business and who was in front of her the entire time became her husband in February 2016. A few years later, Karen realized that the work she did in the months leading up to her last first date was a strategy. Then she started writing her book Becoming Mrs. Stanley. This book outlines the strategy she used to silence her inner critic, grow her self-worth and self-confidence, create happiness in everyday life, transform her beliefs about men, and learn to truly love herself exactly the way SHE WAS. And when she transformed her beliefs and became more self-confident, her soulmate manifested. Now, along with her husband John, she's sharing their journey and strategies so that others can cultivate self love, attract real love that lasts, and create the life they've always wanted.
