Publisher's summary

The Pickup Artist is a salacious book about the continuing adventures of the world's most famous pickup artist, Mystery, who was first introduced as the ringleader of a subculture of pickup artists chronicled in Neil Strauss's 2005 best seller The Game.

After fame, fortune, and reality television, a group of pickup artists live in a gorgeous Miami mansion and live the life many merely dream of. As you go on Mystery's journey for love, he will teach you all he knows about the art of seduction. The Pickup Artist reveals the next level of game theory and technique, designed to catapult timid and insecure men into a world of confidence, attractiveness, easy hookups, and all-around success with women. Half of the book consists of never-before-published tips and techniques, and the other half comprises stories from Mystery's life---the most extreme and enlightening pickup anecdotes---illuminating the game and helping you to avoid the pitfalls of today's dating scene.

Some outdated philosophy, but still a great book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely! Although certain techniques are not useful in 2018 (such as "negging"), there is still a lot of good information about approaching, creating attraction and seduction.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the narrator. He was a very good reader, had a great tone and pace.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked that this book makes reference to Neil Strauss' "The Game."

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Not putting women in a pedestal all the time and investing in yourself first.

A boot camp disguised as a story, but unnatural narration.

The idea is good. Mystery creates a story as a vehicles to teach his material. The story isn’t great and it cuts out unnecessary filler.

It’s effective as a review of his ideas. Yes there’s lots of humble bragging. That’s Mysteries style. The book is also gaming the reader/ listener but it’s not a negative, it’s also a demonstration of the overall methodology.

The narration doesn’t make sense. Mystery is a performer and the best person to narrate his material. The obvious choice is to have him narrate. His voice inflection, tone and pace would give much more information than some random guy reading the text.

Great book!

Just wish Mystery would have narrated it himself. Great stuff though. A must read for all men.

A must listen!

If you’re a woman or have women in your life you care about, have them listen to this book ASAP! Knowledge is power and knowing what to look out for before you encounter it is important.
Similarly, make sure guys and your guy friends listen to this as well. There’s no reason to not up your game or keep listening to fools with bad advice.

this is all the stuff your dad said

the readers voice doesn't match the topic.the info is interesting but a bit repetitive you get the sense he running game on the reader.its actually kind of entertaining.like some 70s failed artist with a little education and a lot of success. girls say they hate this stuff but i believe it probably does work

Not as good as I had hoped

What does every single audiobook like this one think that it’s fine to have casual Sex?
And they don’t even mention That you can get you could get multiple S.T.D. ‘S whatever happened to the idea of getting to know each other before you have sex? This is the problem I have with many books on Dating. They just say that the end game is being able to have sex with you. The Guy who wrote this book is a player, I don’t care what he claims in this book. They should have put more in the book about how to build conversation and how to maintain them, when you are first meeting a woman.
