About this listen

Tess Wakefield has cooled on sex. Oh, she did the rebellious wild-child thing in college, making it a point to break all the rules, especially the ones about sex, and all it got her was a string of loser boyfriends and a fear of rashes. Underwhelmed by her experiences, she's happy to focus on her career and leave her vibrator in storage.

Now an advertising exec, Tess has been hired by one of Madison Avenue's hottest agencies as co-creative director with wunderkind Danny Gabriel. Secretly, she's been asked to rein in his maverick style, and Tess immediately suspects Danny when someone sabotages her new campaign. But everyone in the place seems to have a secret agenda. It's a cutthroat business, and not everyone is willing to play nice with the new girl.

Including Danny. His early, fervent advances are a pleasant shock to Tess, but she never imagines for a second that she'd allow him to draw her into the dark heart of the most breathtaking erotic S&M club in Manhattan, or that she'd be so willing to give up control and like it.

Mediocre writing

I thought I was going to like this book because of the hot subject matter, but it did not hold my interest. I found myself not caring enough to finish it.

Bad Choice!

There has only been only on other audio book that has bored me this senseless! I finally finished this book and was left wondering what the point was? After part one I kept thinking, "when was something going to happen in this yawner"?
The characters were so vaguely developed their actions made little or no sense. By the time the author did give a little more on the character, I just didn't care.
Other Suzanne Forster books were enjoyable. I did give it 2 stars as the reader was good.
I think this one was all the more disappointing because I had already used all my credits for the month and actually paid. Ugh!

kind of crappy

I am now sure why the author picked "Tease" as the title because it has NOTHING to do with teasing. I thought this book was odd....not really what else to say. I did NOT like the book but I love Elenna Stauffer so I gave it 2 stars. I wish you could rate the book and narrator separate.

Is it over yet?

I could not wait to finish. The narration was annoying and she sometimes mixed up characters. The dialog was repetitive and boring, and the plot was Swiss Cheese, or weird and senseless. I will be deleting this audiobook from my I tunes library. Luckily, this is the first audiobook I've disliked.

Unique, darkly compelling

It is rare to find a way to completely escape a demanding and highly responsible professional life. Imagine taking a journey that enables you to give up control, forgo appearances and fears about ones reputation, and in this journey you can vicariously experience whatever wild sexual fantasies appeal to you.

Set in an S&M club, members can choose to act out their fantasies or enact and face what they fear most deeply and perhaps in so doing conquer their fears. Superficially this is one of the story’s premises, but for the main characters it’s more about dealing with feelings of alienation that started in childhood, and feelings of loss, and how these issues affect the ability to form deep emotional attachments.

In Tease the plot is original and unpredictable, which is unusual in the erotic romance genre, and the conflict facing the main character (Tess) is unique. Fortunately for Tess, she has a benevolent guide through the experience of learning to trust another human enough to give up control, surrendering completely, shattering, but coming out whole in the end. There is no cruelty in the process; surprisingly there is understanding and compassion.

One might be inclined to compare this to The Story of O, but there are significant differences. I found O to be full of the most graphic violence against women for the sadistic pleasure of abusive men, and was so put off by it that I had never before considered reading anything else related to S&M.
