About this listen

Their passion will consume everything - and everyone - in its path...

I'm on a train.

I don't know which stop I got on at; I only know the train is going fast and the world outside becomes a blur. I should get off, but I don't. The universe is playing a cosmic joke on me. Here I had my life - a good life with everything a woman could want - and suddenly, there is something more I didn't know I could have. A chance for me to be satisfied and content and maybe even on occasion deliriously, amazingly, exuberantly fulfilled.

So this is where I am, on a train that's out of control, and I am not just a passenger. I'm the one shoveling the furnace full of coal to keep it going fast and faster.

If I could make myself believe it all happened by chance and I couldn't help it, that I've been swept away, that it's not my fault, that it's fate...would that be easier? The truth is, I didn't know I was looking for this until I found Will, but I must've been, all this time. And now it is not random, it is not fate, it is not being swept away.

This is my choice. And I don't know how to stop.

Or even if I want to.

I liked it

Life isn't about HEA. It's about our choices and MH did a great job on this one. The sexual situations aren't as steamy as I like, but the angst is magnificent. I happen to enjoy the angst if it is created in the right way and for me this book is.I enjoyed the female charcter. She's a very complex, unique woman (like we all are).

Definitely torn apart...

Once again, Megan breaks our hearts. In my opinion, this book, "Deeper" and "Broken" should be in a series of their own. This is definitely one of the tearjerker books of the series, and though it doesn't disappoint, it totally crushes a reader.

In the true tradition of the two books listed above, "Tear You Apart" lives up to the title. Elisabeth is a product of a broken home, though no one will admit it. Two kids away at college, and a husband who is nearly non-existent. A boss who could have been her lover, and an artist to steals her heart. Throughout the story, she tries to find herself, and figure out just what will make her truly happy. She makes mistakes along the way, but in the end, in order to become happy, she must break and lose everything.

This book will definitely take you on a roller coaster of emotions, and just when you think everything is about to settle into place, your heart will shatter. Great story, well written, and still staying true to Megan Hart's style, though the love scenes seem to be more about addiction than actual desire.

My heart is broken...now I am going to go read something more lighthearted lol...

Enjoy!

Excellent narrator

This is one of Megan's great books. Karen White did a great job capturing the heart ache and the times I was crying, I could hear Karen's voice quivering and crying too. Exellent narration. This book pulled at my heart, and is well worth your money!!!

STUPENDOUS!

I think that's the first time I've used the word stupendous, but Ms. Hart brings so many things out in me when I listen to her books. She is one of only two authors who I can say have never, ever disappointed me with the books they have offered on Audible. And I've purchased over a 1000 books, so I've listened to many, many authors. She just works for me in every aspect. This story of an affair is one that's been told many times. The subject matter is nothing new; it's just that Ms. Hart's spin on it, her way of telling one woman's journey, is exquisite, meaningful, sensual, sexual, and honest. And the narration was spot-on. There are few things better than when a good story and a good narrator come together. It's the perfect marriage, and you'll find it in this book. Don't buy it if you have a problem with detailed sex scenes. But Ms. Hart does what she does so well and what so few can do; she makes the sex scenes both explicit and romantic without being raunchy. That takes a pro. Usually, you either have detail and raunchiness--which is okay by me--are just sensuality and romance. But Ms. Hart covers all corners. Don't buy it if you have to have the happily ever after in your romances either. This book is for adults who live in the real world and realize life so rarely gives us the HEA, though those books have their place too. Overall, luv, luv, luved it.

Megan Hart Is Back & Good-Like Earlier Work More

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

There was too much imagery and abstraction for me. While I liked this book-it was more in line with Collide & Deeper.

I LOVE her earlier work... Dirty, Stranger and would recommend those over Tear You Apart.

Do you think Tear You Apart needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, the end felt unresolved...I want to know what became of the characters-so many loose ends.

Any additional comments?

Strong language - descriptions of sex.

Creditworthy - 3.5 - 4 stars

Interesting read...

The story of infidelity is the same for everyone. It never has a happy ending, but while it's being written, it is the most amazing experience of your life.

Another good one from Megan Hart

I like the way Hart's characters have real lives. Elizabeth is 45 years old in a 22 year marriage. That doesn't necessarily sound like the beginnings of a good romance, but then love is not always what you expect. Other reviewers have said that this book glamorizes cheating, but I don't see it that way. I think it shows the hell cheating can cause for everyone- the lovers especially. I'm ready for my next Megan Hart book. Oh, and the narration was excellent.

Megan Hart doesn't dissapoint EVER!!...

Would you consider the audio edition of Tear You Apart to be better than the print version?

I have only "heard" Tear You Apart on audio. Haven't read the book yet. I will be adding the book to my collection soon though.

What other book might you compare Tear You Apart to and why?

I would compare Tear You Apart to Deeper. The only reason is because they both brought me to tears and left me with the same feeling at the end.

Which character – as performed by Karen White – was your favorite?

The main character.. Elizabeth.

Any additional comments?

I loved this audiobook. It took me about 4 days to finish. I absolutely didn't want it to end the way it did. I finished it and felt this can't describe feeling in the pit of my stomach...It made me laugh and it made me cry. I can't describe it. I love all of Megan Hart's books and will continue to buy, read and listen to them as long as she writes. I hope she has another book coming out really soon...You won't be disappointed if you get this audiobook.

Oh, my heart

I had a lump in my throat throughout this entire book. Megan Hart’s ability to capture emotions is perfection; I felt each one right along with Elizabeth. This one will break your heart.
