About this listen

Beneath Conrad "Beast" Beeston III's fierce, intense gaze, his brooding temperament, his knuckles scarred from fighting, lurks a wild man, his strong, broad back darkly inked with his own hard truths.

He only has one mode, and "Beast" is it. He ripped through Tilly's life, tearing it to shreds, and then he was gone, giving a stiff middle finger to a life of entitlement. He left her like he leaves them all - with little more than a broken heart. But for Tilly, there was one more thing.

He left her with an unbearable secret she's been forced to keep for years.

Tilly's privileged life, after her recent graduation from Mt. Holyoke, has come to a screeching halt under tragic circumstances. Had she really believed she'd never see her Devil Dog stepbrother again?

Now he's coming home - and she's forced to face his cocky smirk and arrogant swagger, to look once again into the eyes of the monster who left her.

Forced to confront him, what she sees is a raw, broken, tortured man who just might be the only person she knows keeping even bigger secrets than she is.

Worse, she still wants him. Even if it means breaking everything in her life wide open - even if it means unleashing the Beast.

while it might be unconventional, I didnt see anything taboo about it. I enjoyed it, there were all kinds of unexpected twists and turns.

Good story but...

Enjoyed story and performance but hated the music at the beginning of every chapter. It even drowned out the first few words at the start of each chapter.

Kill the music!!! LITERALLY

Okay.. so while the story was decent and kept my interest; the music in between each chapter was super duper ANNOYING. Frankie was a great addition to the story line as the heroine would have come across a bit flat otherwise. The story didn't feel like book porn and the plot was not super populated with characters inner dialogue.. It was the perfect balance of plot and sex.

Loved loved the book! Great story but the terrible music between chapters really sucks and brings you out of the story!

Amazing Book But...

I loved the storyline and the book moved at a great pace but in between the chapters there was this transitional music that was AWFUL. I’m not sure why it was inserted but it ruined the flow...

Engaging story... Narration needs PROOFING!

Would you listen to Step Beast again? Why?

Probably will not listen to it again. Although this is a very good, engaging, thought-provoking story, the narration really needed to be checked-over or "proofed" before being released to the public. I may just be overly-picky, but I really expect a narrator to properly pronounce words according to the context. For example, "bow" as in the bow of a ship is not the same as "bow" as in rainbow. The narrator mispronounced so many basic words that it was very jarring and really distracted from the rest of the story.

Music!!!

The book and story is amazing!! But that damn music when the chapter starts is so annoying!! I’m all mellow and suddenly loud music comes up!! That needs to seriously be fixed!! It breaks the enchantment of the book and story
