About this listen

Duke Morgan owns and operates one of the largest bail bond companies in Atlanta. Not only does he bond criminals out of jail, he and his notorious group of bounty hunters will also track them down and ensure they show up for court.

Roman "Quick" Webb is Duke's business partner and best friend. Both men are in their forties and have given up on the happily ever after with the ranch-style home, and white picket fence. They'd both tried it and failed miserably. But they have their friendship and they have the business.

When Quick's son, Vaughan Webb returns - after seven years-from studying abroad with his law degree in hand, he's back to claim what he's always wanted...his fathers' best friend...Duke Morgan. Vaughan has always claimed to be a classic gentleman with an old soul. He was focused and dedicated to becoming the man worthy of Duke's love.

It's a complex and messy situation as Duke and Quick figure out how to still be best friends when one of them is sleeping with his friend's one and only son. But when Duke is hurt on the job, all the unimportant trivialities fall to the wayside and Vaughan and Quick put their heads together to save Duke.

Contains mature themes.

Sensual story of sincere love

First off, Aiden Snow does an amazing job of voice acting. His deep sultry voice and ability to code switch from scruff Southern drawls to the occasional breathy female voice is impressive. Even the love making scenes are made sincere by Aiden's voice, which is amazing given the content of such scenes.

The story is engaging, although a bit over the top in a few places. One subplot involving "Quick" and a doctor seemed a bit forced. I do commend the author on making the bounty scenes and hospital scenes seem realistic. As a medical professional myself, I laughed out loud at the mention of a catheter making erections quite uncomfortable.

Since, I've broached the subject of sex... this was my first erotica novel. I must say it was well balanced. I guess I assumed erotic novels are basically porn in written form. Perhaps many are. This novel, however, had a story that kept me interested in the characters. When the sex scenes occurred, they felt natural, not gratuitous.

All in all this is a great audio book. Highly recommend.

Good read

I really enjoyed this story. I loved getting to see Duke and Vaughn come together. I first met Duke in Judge's story (Nothing Special series) and so it was really nice to get to come see the bounty hunter side of things and see Duke find his person. You do not need to have read any of those books to start right here. I loved watching Vaughn going after what he wanted. He had waited and bided his time and was ready to make his move. These two are great together and really make things work. I loved getting to know the secondary characters as well, which really leads us into the next book perfectly. Super excited to start that one.
The narrator did a great job with this story and really bringing it to life.

First one down!

I have a hard time going through an entire series without losing interest. I grabbed this off my wish list and decided to see if I liked the characters enough to try. I was expecting something different from the blurb—maybe a build-up of the relationship between Duke and Vaughn before the accident—but the fact that the accident happened at the beginning of the story threw me off a little bit. And kinda turned me off this part of the story, tbh. It was pretty low key, which is not a bad thing, but certainly more boring than I was expecting. There wasn’t quite enough excitement to make this a thrilling “must listen” book, although the steamy parts were good. The only reason I’m continuing with the series is because of the peeks we get from Quick and Cayson and their story in Part 2. That was enough to make me want to keep going, even though the Duke/Vaughn chapters were slow and steady and a little hard to get through. Could this be a re-listen? Maybe. I can’t see it grabbing more attention the second time through, but you never know. And Aiden Snow? Freaking top notch. I doubt this series would be as well-received if anyone else had narrated it. He has an amazing range of deep voices for all the different characters (that are distinct and easy to pick out) and the southern twang is absolute perfection. After hearing from Judge, I’m tempted to pick up the Nothing Special series to get his story (although I’ll be skipping Part 1 due to the reviews about the random ménage).

Bounty Hunters

I had no self control when it came to this audiobook. It should have lasted me a couple days and yet here I am, finished the day of release. I love this series and characters and I absolutely love how the narrator brings them all to life!

Chokehold

A.E. VIA got me in a chokehold. I can’t get enough. I came over from reading the nothing special series, and this is kind of like a side story, and I love every second of it. At first, I wasn’t sure about the story, but when I heard the sample, I was hooked

While it emotions!

I was so happy when I stumbled across this series because I was not ready to leave the world of these men! I didn’t think anything could top the nothing special series… but this is a damn close second.

Poor duke- he just can’t catch a break. He and Vaughn make a force to be reckoned with. I’m so glad duke got his HEA, he deserves it.

It’s hot and heavy, painful, suspenseful, but ooo so perfect.

So good!

I wanted to get Dukes story since we met him in Don't Judge. I'm so happy he finally got his hea with Vaughan. They are perfect for each other. The way Vaughan has been in love with him for years. I can't wait to get more from A.E Via.

The audio was amazingly done. Aiden Snow is definitely one of my favorite narrators.
