About this listen

Cutlas Estates started as an idea in Milo Jackson’s head after he inherited land. After visiting Lakeview Lodge, he and his bonded husband Olds put up a B&B and began offering the rest of that private land to shifters to settle on. Milo's dream: build a safe and open shifter community. These are the first two books telling the stories of two of the first couples to settle in Cutlas Estates as told one evening at a party at Chance and Liam’s house.

Killer Cook: Chance and Liam met at Lakeview Lodge and it’s all history after that. While being an author of procedural crime fiction with a popular detective for years, Liam is trying his hand at writing a western about the romance between two old wild west bank robbers, gay style, during his well-earned sabbatical. His publisher is off his back so he can do whatever he wants for the next six months, including falling in love. Chance has spent his early twenties deciding what to do with his life and getting it backed by education. Nothing seemed to work out for him until he met Liam, then everything just fell into place.

That doesn’t mean their life together is peaceful. There is a real life shooter gunning for them, and then there’s the filming and the morning sickness to contend with. Liam’s concerned with switching genres, people needing help, including lost young shifters who’ve been abandoned, and helping Milo set up his community. He and Chance are even setting up a sports program and establishing other community events, all while putting up Chance’s Killer Cook podcast. It’s a full life and they have a lot working against them. Sometimes they wonder whether they’ll ever be able to pull this community together.

Slugger Days: Lucky and Eddie are unreasonably attracted to each other in the interview but Lucky is Eddie’s direct supervisor and it’s hands off the wolf shifter dock worker! This has him pulling away from Eddie faster than you can say Waltzing Matilda. Plus, he’s always been secretly in love with Liam since they were young and he’s been dealing with that ever since Liam showed up out of the blue with Chance on his arm. It hasn’t been easy. Plus, he’s not a shifter and all his friends are shapeshifters, not to mention the dock worker who could make him forget all about Liam that propriety says he can’t date.
Eddie has just arrived in town and on mainland U.S. soil. He’s been working on fishing vessels for a while now--until he kept shifting onboard out of his control. He had to leave his best job ever and now he’s trying to get settled while adjusting to becoming a landlubber again. He’s living at the YMCA until he knows for sure he’ll be sticking around the area. The last thing he needs is to fall for his new boss. The thing is, it’s not so bad being back in the desert again. He misses his foray into the outback when he was a kid. Plus he’s got some nutty game retirees trying to help him pull together a baseball career out of nothing! Life could end up being very good if he stays. If only life hacks and his heart weren’t pushing and pulling him in so many new directions.

Mature themes.
