About this listen

There's only so much frustration a guy can handle before he gets a little nutty. For Jude Jamison, his frustration has a name - May Price. She's everything the former Hollywood bad boy actor came to Stillbrook, Ohio, hoping to find: open, honest, lovable, and full of those luscious curves you don't find on stick-figure starlets - curves May doesn't seem to appreciate in herself.

Every time Jude tries to get close to the skittish business woman, to take her in his arms, she thinks he's joking. Joking? Joking does not involve lots of cold-shower therapy. Time for new tactics. If May can't respond to his sly compliments and sexy innuendos, he'll just have to spell it out for her.

Jude Jamison is going to lay down the law for May Price. And after that, she'll have no delusions about just how much he wants her....

Jude's Law by Lori Foster

I have always loved Lori Foster 's books. I
was really excited to hear the books. I loved Jude. He loves may just the way she is. It is definitely great that big girls can win in the love game. Thanks again Lori. J....

Jude & May

I didn’t know what to listen to next, then I was scrolling on Facebook and Lori Foster herself asked who of her characters our favorite was. Jude and May were the first to pop into my head. I read this book many years ago and LOVED it so.

I hadn’t listened to it, so thought why not. Not only is it as good listening to it as it was to eye read it. But it just brought back all the feelings of why I loved it so much the first time.

May doesn’t let people or events take her down she is strong in so very many says and I love that she knows herself. Jude is infatuated and doesn’t take no for an answer and he is willing to do the work to make her see that he really does want to get to know her. I loved this about their story. They really communicate and there is very little drama which I love. There is still the element of suspense and who done it. Without all the drama mess and still it leaves you wanting more.

I love Jim’s narration, he gives such a unique voice to these characters that I can’t get enough of I am going to dive into Murphy’s Law next.

Boring

Boring Narrator has a good voice but added to the boring plot by reading as though he was patiently explaining something that was again Boring!

Couldn't make it past...

The 2nd chapter. Maybe it gets better, but I'll never know.

Typical rich, handsome unattainable movie star & world class fighter falls for small town, "plump", over responsible for her brother girl.

This book is not for me.

Weak overal

If you like books about a full figured woman from Ohio who dresses frumpy and longs to marry a rich, handsome, celebrity, then this book is for you. It wasn't for me however. Poorly written, weak story line, and uncompelling characters. Can't believe I spent money for this!

Not what I expected.

I got this book because the preview reading made me think it would be pretty good. What a disappointment. This was nothing like I expected. First, I could not find anything to love about one of the main characters. The female lead May Price was just plain sad! I have no problem with ladies who struggle to deal with being over-weight. I know that's a self esteem issue that is very common, and it's one I've had to deal with all my life. I also know it may take some of us longer to over come this issue and emerge on the other side happy, confident and strong, but this lady take's the cake. She never seemed to understand and know that she was beautiful. She didn't get it from Jude, who treated her like a queen, or his friend Denny. She never saw her own worth in anything. Then there's Jude. He's handsome, rich, and down to earth. He's also a movie star and a cage fighter that's just plain cool. He's the only one who seemed to be worth dealing with throughout the whole book. Okay, you can add Denny to that quota, but that's as far as I can go. Most of the main supporting character just piss you off. I didn't like May's parents or brother, who play a big part in the book. There is NOTHING redeemable about any of them! They were money grabbing snobs, unreliable, uncaring, drunk, etc etc! Just everything bad you could ever see in a family, and May was just stupid enough to keep letting them walk right over her! I do not recommend this book if this kind of thing pisses you off. That's all it did for me.

Jim Fragione is one of my favorite narrators, and even he could not save this book!

Couldn’t get through it

It took about an hour and a half for her to get to the point! She thought about his house, grounds, muscles, clothes, her clothes, and on and on when she was in a situation of life and death. Nope.

don't waste your time

even as a sleep story this is just annoying. narration doesn't remotely suit; should've been something upbeat and sassy - but I think maybe they were going for sexy? I just found it off putting. and I remembered this having more plot than it actually does (read years ago so was intrigued when I found it on audible).
even with listening to it intermittently between other (better) reads, I still couldn't finish
