Holy Psychopath Batman!!

I wanted a Thriller, but man did this one hit close to home. One of my daughters has borderline personality disorder, which causes a person to have no empathy for others, etc... Some of the way the daughter spoke to her mother was almost verbatim and very familiar to me. That being said I dislike the way the mother was portrayed as having no backbone, but I can understand why she behaves as she does. Parents always look to themselves to figure out why their children turn out as they do. It's the "forest for the trees" "looking back I should have noticed."

I didn't see the daughter's proclivities coming at all and know I would have jumped over the table at the jail and beat the crap out of her. Been there done that and got the t-shirt.

I usually don't cry after reading a book but I boo hoo'd at the end relating to every parent's nightmare. I've never read a book like this that actually took you through "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" along with the characters and made you feel how they felt as the story progressed. Whew, I'll sleep with the lights on tonight.

Great book and it shedded light on so many mental health issues that nobody wants to talk about!

Deeeply disturbing story. Kept me hooked.

If you could sum up I See You in three words, what would they be?

Dark; creepy; addictive.

What was one of the most memorable moments of I See You?

When Adam and Hannah see the truth.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

Her entire narration was excellent. A really good narrator lets you forget that there is a narrator. She accomplished this, by seamlessly moving from character to character. Her chilling depiction of a psychopath was spot on.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I nearly did so. Whenever I wasn't listening, I was eager to get back to it.

Any additional comments?

I have loved Patricia MacDonald from first discovering her in the early 1990s. I am so glad that she doesn't hold back in her fictional exploration of the darkest corners of human behavior. She is not a storyteller for wimps.

Exceptionally dark!

Very well written and completely engulfs you from the very go. This book had many twists and turns, it was hard to put down. Kudos to the author.

Disturbing

Be forewarned, the subject matter in this book was really disturbing. I liked her other books much better...

Unbelievable!!

Ive read hundreds of books, in 60 yrs, maybe thousands, but have NEVER, ever read such a STUPID, "leave believability behind" eyes roll till they hurt, frustrating, book as this. The stupid decisions, excuses of the parents of a psychopath are just too much to take. Ill try not to spoil completely but its hard! Once they find out exactly what their daughter did and planned but STILL mom utters those words"but she's still our daughter" and plan to "protect" her from publicity, dont go to the police, well that was it. Then mom wonders, gee, it must be my fault, I was a bad mom" Good god. Ok SPOILER ALERT...It just gets worse, "Murder somebody but i still love you "sure honey try to kill me but I still love you" pimp out your 2 yr old!! but I still love you". By the end they could have all shot each other and I'd said "good riddance"
